Unironically the next big thing is going to the US getting really buddy-buddy with Canada, the UK, AUS, and NZ. The anglosphere is basically reuniting now that there is no use in America being the global ocean police. We share intelligence data, have a common language, and are operating together militarily. Outside of that, US-Mexico relations are going to improve as we turn to them for low skill labor that we used to use China for. We're also positioned to sell them our higher end manufactured goods (sorry Canada). With a renewal in their manufacturing sector comes an economy not based on beheadings and narco-terrorism, making it similar to SE Asia as far as expat living would be concerned.

China is currently actively trying to piss off the rest of the world so hard, that its collective hatred can be used to make Chinese citizens frame their worldview as Chinese vs the world. They pulled their diplomatic personnel from AUS, and tried to put economic sanctions on them only to have it hurt their economy more. If this hail mary nationalism push doesn't take, emperor Xi is toast, and China does what it always does: dissolve into a handful of countries fighting over scraps while its neighbors pillage it.
The only reason there is so much Chinese ownership in Canada (and AUS for that matter) is that anyone with money in China moves it out of there so the party can't take it. Same with getting their children in N.A. universities, they both couldn't hack it in China so they bought entry, and don't want to be in China when it dies. I don't care if Canada is full of 'loyal' party member's kids. They'll be party members of a country that doesn't exist.

Honestly, we could unironically drop a nuke at this point, then turn around and tell the world that some Chinese madman attempted a first strike only for the warhead to go off on launch, and they'd just go with it. Nobody likes them, nobody in the region bears them anything but animosity, and its clear they can't even do biowarfare research without Chinese Quality (TM) ruining everything.
