Can we talk about the potential merits/downsides of cryptoidentity/digital identity in the next decade, or what we can do to prepare for it? With Bill Gates’ ID2020 it seems inevitable the future is heading in the direction of digital ID. All memes aside, Idena has first movers’ advantage in Proof of Human, but it’s not perfect:
Pros -Trustless, truly decentralized -AI resistant (with Winograd rest) -UBI in crypto -Easy mining, novel consensus method -Built from the ground up in Go, anyone can submit code, active development -Network growing fast -Low mcap, high upside if it succeeds
Cons -Lack of other or many usecases/not yet defined this early -user devs -Fairly dubious premine -Early miners received massive rewards (same with Ethereum and Bitcoin though) -Low liquidity/volume -1 node not guaranteed to be a single entity, not true PoH (which is impossible with current tech without KYC and PII)
I don't think devs ever claimed that 1 node = 1 human, moreso that there is no bot controlling a node. Anonymous dev-team is not really a problem in this case, there are breadcrumbs that show that at least a part of the dev team are data scientist from Berlin. There is a pretty big pre-mine indeed. For the Idena coin to work we do need big volume. I trust that we see a quality exchange before the end of the year, like they claimed.
