Pretty much, in practice not spending ten bucks in stupid bullshit is the same as making ten bucks.

Yes. Don’t fall for the consoomer trap. Cars (shiny wagecuck cages) new phone every 2 years etc etc.

every dollar you save and invest is a soldier working for you.

Money buys freedom, not some fucking useless trinkets. Consooming is bad form.

In Taleb's world, freedom is the ultimate goal, not being rich. That's why he prefers to be referred to as a "flanuer" these days: an idler or lounger. He has a host of quotes in the book about not falling into the hedonic trappings of wealth. Here are some of my favorites:

* "When people get rich...[t]hey lose control of their preferences, substituting constructed preferences to their own, complicating their lives unnecessarily, triggering their own misery."

* "Most people, I am convinced, are happier in close quarters, in a real barrio-style neighborhood, where they can feel human warmth, have company, but when they have big bucks they end up pressured to move into a outsized impersonal and silent mansions, far away from the neighbors. [sic]"

* "You can define a free person precisely as someone whose fate is not centrally or directly dependent on his peer assessment."

Minimalism is larping as poor. Actually poor people, like the depression generation, keep virtually everything to reuse.

Consumption is what keeps the capitalist economy omg alive today. It’s household consumption is 70% of US GDP.

comfy reading spot

It correlates with either being really broke, or being really aware of what makes you happy.

And invest said money is making 20 bucks.

I make 13k USD post tax monthly. The only thing I spend is rent, food and motorcycle, stashing away about 9k. One day I will be free, live near a big lake, have 2 acres of land at least. A boat, a greenhouse, some chickens. Fish all day.

>I make 13k USD post tax monthly.

Damn american salaries are wild. What do you do?

Based goals, user. Good luck to you. Buy ETH.

I am not american fren, I'm corporate slave for a big search engine, program all day in isolation like a neet. The company is great but I still search for meaning and am depressed af.

thank you fren. I believe in ETH but feel LINK has more multiplier left, sometimes you have to think what's more appealing to normies to ride the normie wave. ETH will do fine but LINK is a sure bet IMO. 20/80 is a good split I feel.

I'd go with the opposite ratio with ETH staking hype being a much sure bet, but you should do fine either way.

Money and investing does not make you free. It only exists within society. If people suddenly dissappear, you are nothing. That way, minimalism is not enough. You should be independent and produce goods yourself, instead of borrowing them from society with your green toilet paper. Learn agriculture, frens.

Are farmers the opposite of minimalists, at least in a pure material sense? I've never been in an uncluttered barn, and never knew a farmer or rancher that would throw anything out.

if you want to pretend to be some kind of ascetic, then go ahead. just because you have a lot of stuff doesn't mean you can't be happy either. you can still consciously choose to not seek happiness through getting more stuff. the problem isn't what you have around you, it's an inner problem.

Philanthropy is.
Nobody who makes it to that level is remotely here anymore.

Stay poor goyim

2 acres? With that kind of money you could get 20+ neat a city unless you’re near some shithole like LA.

If you don't like farming you can choose hunting or fishing. The point is to learn to rely and survive on yourself, not society. It goes hand by hand with ascetism/minimalism. If you depend on lambos and hookers, you are not free. If you depend on grocery store and utility workers, you are not free either. Next day civilization introduces new rules and you have to comply them. It reminds me teenagers living with their parents, but on a larger scale.

Thats literally 99% of women out there. Besides of consooming they force based user into consoomery.

>not spending ten bucks in stupid bullshit is the same as making ten bucks.

NO, it's much better: MAKING ten bucks is taxed; SAVING it is not.

That's a very good rug he has.

Fuck off, you have it really good. Your meaning for now is to get that money in order to get your freedom. You're humble bragging at this point.
