did at any point in your years of study did you think "maybe I should get a degree that will help me get a job"
Teach a English overseas. There can be good money in it. Especially in a place like Taiwan
it’s a concentration in technical publishing. my plan was to do documentation, ux, and wordpress publishing. covid killed most of those careers tho for the time being so im fucked as it currently stands.
not gonna sit here and act like it was ever a smart idea to get an english degree tho
>an hero
>ring ring, hi this is publishers clearing house, you just won 10 million dollars!!!! Congratulations!!!...oh really? Sorry to hear that. So sorry....welp guess he won’t be needing all this money. It’s just money, right?....right??? Bye.
"an ba in english"
No, there is absolutely no hope for you.
c’s get worthless degrees my guy
>thinks what major you get matters
lol. im in the same boat as you and i majored in Finance. College degree does jack shit. Its all connections
learn to code or go to law school. I just saved you 5 years of toiling away your 20s
You'll make for a fine customer service employee with a degree like that
>learning to code for money
>going to a Law School that isnt T14
the worst advice ive seen on this board. and thats saying a lot
i make more than u and don't have a degree
>makes money without a degree
>still tells others to get a degree
what kind of retarded logic is this. you sound like a roastie camwhore
I'll have to check but I think you can learn to code and not have a degree
>he thinks people can make money from coding anymore
LOL. tell that to /g/.
You sound like someone who got really really lucky or lying about how much you make

wat the fuck is this
hey man just trying to help i was once where both you and OP are now. How I got from there to where I am now definitely involved luck but also involved losing friends and gfs because I didn't have time for them. Choose my career over other things. It gets better just have to work hard
also my best friend and I were the biggest retards in college. He was able to hold it together enough to finish a degree and I wasn't. Fast forward 5 years he got tired of not making any money and went into law school. Just got an employment letter for over 6 figs. Not gaslighting you guys learning to code and law school are do overs if you fucked up the first time. Just sayin mang
If you wanna stay home and have a NEET-like employed life I recommend teaching English online. A lot of places pay peanuts but if you show any competence and can claim to have some experience (maybe hire on with a local tutoring company for a few months) you can do alright. You won't make as much as you might lEaRnInG tO cOdE but that's a years-long commitment. I make about $28 an hour and it's pretty easy. You do have to wake up at retarded hours like 4am though.
I started as a freelance writer in college and now write full-time while pursuing an MA. My income is pretty solid, like $60k a year now for 20 hr workweeks.
Started by posting on reddit and then became a writer in the blockchain world.
If you can write coherently and quickly, you will find it very lucrative. Content is king online and look for new sectors to find your niche.
After you have a stead stream of income freelancing, your name will be known and you’ll have relative job security. You can then pursue your other dreams, whatever they may be. Embrace being a free agent.
nice. i’ve been working towards getting into niche writing for websites to try to hawk some produces or get clicks. nothing about blockchain tho. do you think it’s too late to start learning about blockchain and begin writing for it or would i be better off focusing on growing other things?
Nope not late at all
i love you. can you point me to some samples for the kind of content you work with
If you don't already have something lined up or major connections you're fucked. The search doesn't start after you graduate with a degree. It starts when you graduate high school
yea all my connections were tv development related and covid obliterated that.
My gf studied English, she got a job as a copywriter straight out of uni making a nice income. Most people don't manage to do this, though, because they're retarded
I'm 22 with an EE degree and business minor and I make 70k a year and drive pic related
>$22k used
>going to law school that's not T14
Eh you have to check salary data as long as it's top 20 you can still get the BigLaw salary w regional placement
Top 25% of the law school class at USC (that choose to work in private sector) make $190k (+$15k bonus) starting on average at age 25
ok
that seems like a comfy gig. You probably don't want to reveal what company you work for, but where can I find jobs like these? Where is a good place to start my search?
