Because you're signaling being poor. Being minimal doesn't mean never spending money, but on the things you'll be spending a lot of time with, it frees up money to make those nice.

For example, the TV stand is cheap polymer shit. Even some particle board IKEA thing, with sharp lines and black lacquer would be better. Or the chair; its not only cheap, but uncomfortable. You don't need to drop 10k on a mega-recliner, but you may as well grab a good gaming chair. Our your bed: you can sleep on a futon, but get a real, Japanese futon, hand made and built to last.

Also you only have a TV and PS4 and your cable management is still trash. Shows you take no pride in your living space.
