I'm not a fan of crypto youtube but I have to admit that this specific video made me think of a different way to approach staking requirements in the early stages. It made me realize that we could actually predict what is going to be staked by every node just by looking at how much value is being secured by every Chainlink oracle feed network serving data to DeFi.
Each defi Dapp will ask for an amount of link equivalent to the amount of USD value being secured by those feeds. So if for example, SNX/USD price network is securing 100 million dollars, to participate in that network, all the nodes have to add 100 million USD in staked LINK. Right now most networks use ~21 nodes. That means that each node that serves SNX/USD data will need to stake 4 million USD in LINK (1.1 million LINK at current prices).
This serves to give us a clearer picture of how staking is going to work during the first year.
