Well, the big picture is globalism and "world citizenship" itself, I posted link to that book above.
The seeds were sown already after World War II. They are already erasing history (destroying statues), slowly all borders will dissolve (at least in the western world) etc. This might take up to 100 years though. The only identity of yours will not be national identity, but an digital identity etc.
It is the logical outcome of all this progress they are making towards.
