Sup Monero senpai, feeling comfy? This daily general is for supporters of the cypherpunk ideology to hang out and help noobies learn about Monero, the most fungible cryptocurrency. We believe that Monero is the logical continuation of Bitcoin because it offers superior privacy, leading the way to many potential use cases. Discussion points include rising Dark Net adoption, news articles about Monero, daily transaction totals, and new technology updates to the Monero project. Moonboy posting is discouraged, however price speculation and TA is fine.
Imho XMR is one of the few coins whose value is derived by more or less organic demand and use cases. The few other coins that have this are exchange tokens that give discounts for trading fees but their use case is much smaller. ETH, EOS, Cardano etc. are more or less gambles on smart contract platforms but none of them see demand and price rise and fall because of the use of their contracts.
"I think that the only effective defense against the coming surveillance dystopia is one where you take steps yourself to safeguard your privacy, because there's no incentive for self-restraint by the people that have the capacity to intercept everything. A historical analogy could be how people learned that they should wash their hands. That required the germ theory of disease to be established and then popularized, and for paranoia to be instilled about the spread of disease via invisible stuff on your hands that you can't see, just as you can't see mass interception. Once there was enough understanding, soap manufacturers produced products that people consumed to relieve their fear. It's necessary to instill fear in people so they understand the problem before they will create enough demand to solve the problem." - "Creating an electronic currency is a big deal precisely because control over the medium of exchange is one of the three ingredients of a state." "If you take away the state's monopoly over the means of economic interaction, then you take away one of the three principal ingredients of a state. In the model of the state as a mafia, where the state is a protection racket, the state shakes people down for money in every possible way. Controlling currency flows is important for revenue-raising by the state, but it is also important for simply controlling what people do- incentivizing one thing, disincentivizing another thing, completely banning a certain activity, or an organization, or interactions between organizations." "Government regulation has made particular financial players kings and doesn't allow other market entrants. Economic freedom has been impinged by an elite group that is able to influence both regulation and the principles involved in these banks."

After a brief pullback in transactions (we never dipped below 10k) we have a ton of momentum right now and it looks like we are close to breaking 12. With the 4th of July coming up this could be a big week for transaction usage.
should we be decentralizing communications? I feel like the reddit thread (fuck reddit though) with the skepticism sundays/etc is a much better/more accessible means for this.
Landon Murphy
Thanks for the xmr gen Always the best thread on biz
XMR is the only asset that acts as a hedge for earned profits (in that it is extremely hard to confiscate and can't be externally inflated away/dumped) and as an excellent current investment (as the block reward is continuously diminishing and demand is continually rising)
Are there any privacy exchange where I can trade my doge, xvg, pivx, monero, etc. for cash?

Why would you want to cash out? But also you can't.

Serious bagholder here. Any hope of it breaking $100? It just seems stuck around $50-60.

I think this war is waged on many fronts! Reddit and Biz and various social media channels all provide unique audiences, albeit with a bit of overlap. The best way to decentralize is to have a presence in as many communities as possible.
I wasn't OP today, but whoever he is, hats off to you, OP.
Based take, user. I think, especially when we're talking with newcomers, it's worth noting that crypto markets are volatile and still nascent, so there's no rule that says that XMR, BTC and everything else couldn't go to zero- but the odds are in our favor.
I disagree, friend. I'm a localmonero guy over any other, but any exchange that accepts XMR will let you cash out, and converting XMR to BTC is easy for exchanges that don't. Now, you've gotta connect that money to your name and bank account, which it sounds like this user wants to avoid, but cashing out is possible through a plethora of off-ramps.
>I disagree, friend I guess you're unaware. You literally can't cash out.
Hudson Roberts
Local monero is very easy to use user. You can meet up with another user at a Starbucks and easily do a transaction.

Local Monero > Sell Monero for Cash
Explain to me how this isn't cashing out
Jack Hall
will this ever get added to Coinbase?

Maybe once Armstrong is done stacking.

lol looks like we arrive at this point again. Where another poor soul finally realizes that crypto is a scam because you can't cash out.
You LITERALLY can't fucking cash out. Seriously, try it. You wasted all your money on internet bucks. There is no way to convert it back to fiat. All those "exchanges" that claim to deposit your money into your bank? Those are scams, the deposit never goes through. All those people saying it isn't a scam? They're shills for the scam "exchanges."
Anyone who tries to refute this post is a scammer shilling for scammy exchanges.

Didn't know we had a fag from antifa on Zig Forums >IF YoU doN't AgReE wITh me You'RE a NaZI

Uh I have cashed out. So I think you are kinda retarded user.
