I'm done shilling, but I'll answer any questions newfags have, if they want to know why this is the best hold in crypto at the moment.

How many times has Bancor been hacked? Why do they have the ability to freeze your funds/transactions, but can’t stop the hackers?

3 or 4? All but one of those was back in 2018. The most recent vulnerability was about a week ago and was discovered by the team, who white hatted it. So there are no "hackers" to stop in recent times, as it was the team themselves. Version 2, which is due for release in July, will have code audited both by Consensys Diligence and 1inch.
The history of exploits and vulnerabilities is not a good look, so hopefully this double audit will be enough to iron out any remaining issues.

When the fuck We finally find out how they "solved" imp loss problem?

All price rise is shilling this shit with vague information "muh chainlink" "muh 1 sided pools" when the fuck we find out how fucking thing that makes or brakes this shit forever acually works?

There's a "Community Call" on the 29th of June where they will lay out the technical implementation of v2 (including the impermanent loss solution) to the public.
So we will have the theoretical answer from next week, and the real answer next month when v2 launches.

Ok so why is best hold atm as you say?
Upside is huge but so is downside

Because the Community Call is obviously going to be a success. It's their opportunity to showcase their tech and they obviously have it to a point that they are happy to make it public.
So between now and the actual v2 launch you have a huge hype period.
Then there might be a "sell the news" for the actual launch, but after that there is only one question, and that's whether the security holds up. Two simultaneous audits would make you pretty confident.
So if we have no vulnerabilities, and a successful launch, then it is almost guaranteed Bancor will take its place among other successful Chainlink-DeFi projects like AAVE and Synthetix.
>One of the top earning defi protocols already
>Huge incentive to hold BNT and get half the staking rewards
>Increase in BNT price means increase in liquidity which means increase in BNT price etc
>Single asset staking, no imp loss and marginal slippage are huge drivers
And on top of that the market is in just the right level of sentiment. DeFi is hot right now, projects have already succeeded, multiple Chainlink-DeFi projects have had huge gains, and Bancor is still rank 80 with a bunch of non-event shitcoins. It's the perfect storm.
The entire gamble is whether two audits miss a critical vulnerability. The upside is enormous and very close to being realised.

I like this because V2 Chainlink. I won't hold this because I am all in Chainlink. Feel the same way about DMG desu.

You hear the big Kyber-Bancor news today?

Yup, great to see so many projects building mutually beneficial infrastructure instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. KNC pools will be huge and Bancor liquidity provision to Kyber will be huge.

Coinbase said they’re exploring adding BNT. Would make sense since they also added kyber, mkr, comp

I plan to buy in, but I’m waiting for a better price

1 time in 2018. The bug last week was not a hack. It was a white hack implemented by the team to protect users.

9x since march

Very uneasy buying this.

80m mcap not exactly small.

This is probably an ultra retarded question yet probably the one that binds us here. What are your short term expectations and a long term version? Am I deluded to think that we'll peak this week at $2 or possibly $3 by some luck? The entire run reminds of waves in late 2018.

what news? all I'm seeing today is the staking community pool?

I got a 50k bag making it my next largest after LINK. My only concern is, AMMs may avoid bancor in favour of balancer simply for BAL rewards. BNT is fully circulating with a large supply, unlike these new DeFi governance tokens. How will they incentivise people to provide liquidity of the ERC-20s besides BNT?

Yup it's far from a total "hidden gem", but put next to the other DeFi projects with a far higher cap, add the fact it's already one of the most profitable DeFi protocols, factor in the very strong value prop of BNT itself (BNT holders provide liquidity for the BNT half of ALL asset pairs and take 50% of fees) and it's at the very least worth keeping an eye on.
I think fixating on the fact it's 9x from the absolute bottom is the wrong way to look at it. Market cap is more important, and if this hits the ground in the way it should there is still plenty of room for upward movement, especially as the DeFi hype increases.

Short term? I think unless BTC totally shits then we'll be over $2 by v2. Maybe a sell the news dump, but as I said, if this thing actually works and starts sucking in huge amounts of liquidity then $10 is a $600m cap and easily possible in these conditions.
And one of the things I like about Bancor is that its success would not just be for its own sake. The entire ecosystem of dexes would benefit from better liquidity, lower slippage, better tools, etc. So if you're someone who wants to see DeFi actually work at scale this is a project you should be rooting for even if you choose not to invest in it.

Balancer is just a governance token, BNT is a staking rewards token that takes half of the fees from every single asset pair running on Bancor. But that's all secondary to the main question of "are people going to use it" and that's why Bancor's impermanent loss solutions are so critical. We'll know on the 29th either way!

no one will use bancor because they don't want hacked and lose all their funds. bancor has been hacked 4 times.

Desperate. I'm wishing for it to dip too, but you aren't achieving anything with this.

Attached: kek.jpg (1024x576, 48.21K)

right, but if I'm a liquidity providor, making 100-300% APY at current prices on Balancer pools far outweights avoidance of impermanent loss.

i was gonna buy the dip to .79 after the hack but bought REN instead, is this still a good buy???

If it works long term it's a good buy up to $5, but short term they are releasing their full technical specs to the public on the 29th, so you can either wait until then to see how it goes, or bank on them pulling it off and expect a big month between now and v2 launch.

You're not going to get 100-300% APY when you pull your stake out if there's impermanent loss.

Are you me? Thinking the same. I'm longing BNT til at-least $10 betting they'll pull it off and market conditions remain bullish over the next few months.
