What are your opinions on hardware wallets such as the Ledger Nano X? Why do or don't you use one and why are you too cheap to invest $100 to secure your entire stack?

Ledger it is a piece of shit, i use trezor + the passphrase feature.
why is it a piece of shit?
Ledger works great, has a good interface and is easy to replace. Totally worth the piece of mind knowing people can't just decide to take my eth and run any day of the week cause it's on an exchange
I use ledger nano x. I like it. I use it for my long term hold. I never used a trezor so idk aboutive had paper wallets, and my key almost faded in oblivion once. Be carful about the ink you use.
My Ledger Feels really safe so I recommend a hardware wallet, especially if you own more then 1 btc I’d say.
I dont like the nano x because Bluetooth seems like a bad idea. Nano s and trezor are both acceptable choices. If you aren’t going to move your coins ever a paper wallet is more secure, but the second you type in your private key on any internet connected machine you open yourself up to vulnerabilities. You could use an air-gapped setup and two computers, but thats getting a bit cumbersome. Thats why hardware wallets exist. They are just tiny air-gapped PCs so that your private key never has to touch an internet connected machine.
Ledger is great, got one for myself last week
Ledger Nano S is alright, you don't need X if you have a computer
I got low six figures in crypto on my Ledger and I got the passphrase in cryptosteel in a safety deposit box with my notarized will.
Remember to make sure that should it come to the worst your family can still enjoy your crypto wealth after your death
I accept that the cryptosteel is insecure I'm looking for a better scheme such as a BIP38 encrypted laser engraved cold wallet/s
I just stole all your crypto
Ty for explaining
