Imagine investing in your own demise
Do you want to be on your homestead with your family and your neighbours, growing food and supporting each other, or do you want to be stuck in a city when the food stops appearing on supermarket shelves and anomie kicks in?
You invest to escape.
You mean, accused of not saying it? Once they have complete control, they will unmask their hidden racism.
How long before everything I've said on this website is made public?
>tfw i had 5 amazon stocks and sold mid april
Usually I spend money on my demise and end up broke.
You fucking brainlet, that article about the microchip is about a bill that prevents employers from making it mandatory. It's an ANTI-chip bill.
It's showing how they weren't required to be chipped but normies did it anyways
Here's something I never understood, how the hell did we go from "NEVER post your real info online" to "sign up your children online with their real names, also please give us your cellphone number for your protection".
My mama taught me in the 90s to NEVER give my real name out online. Nobody on forums used their real name as user name. What happened?
I can't begin to understand the horror of having my 12 year old opinion posted online attached to my real name as an adult.
I'm increasingly thinking that we're doomed as a species, not because we're dumb, but because the standard deviation of our intelligence is too large.
What we have is technological advancements invented and developed by outliers, and utilized (and misused) by people of far lower intelligence, which leads to an accumulation of negative side-effects.
For a species to survive the products of its own intelligence, it requires a low standard deviation in intellectual capacity. If it gets to the point of being able to invent fire, most of its member will be smart enough not to burn down the house.
Thank G-d based Hashem prohibits me from doing any of that
Even the wildly intelligent outliers who develop the technology are too stupid to appreciate the ramifications of their actions until it’s too late. I suspect a big part of the reason we’ve not encountered other intelligent life in the universe is that all such species eventually overstep their bounds and obliterate themselves
Eh, I have never invested in Amazon and recently canceled my prime membership because the only reason I had it was for the free 2 day shipping and now they use covid as an excuse to ship stuff late even when it's prime. I'm not paying over $100 a year so they can screw me on shipping when most other sites like Walmart's ship two day shipping for free if you spend over a certain amount anyways.
Agreed, I've come to the same conclusion as a likely great filter.
Still, I think a low standard deviation of intelligence is likely to be necessary (though not sufficient) for a species to pass this filter.
Another is likely to be a comparatively resource poor planet that doesn't have anything equivalent to fossil fuels. This would prevent a species from exploding in number and technological innovation like we have, and force a slower, more difficult rise, making it more likely to develop a higher level of intelligence some degree of "civilizational wisdom."
Since dead organisms leaving behind energetic molecules is potentially a common phenomenon (not sure about this, but it's likely), the conditions for slow advancement would only be present comparatively early on in the evolution of the bioshere, leaving species like ours in what could be called the late-comer trap.
Sooner than you think, you have until november
That worked out really well for Randy Weaver.
I’m not sure that slow progress and low variance in intelligence would be enough. As soon as writing is developed and people are able to pass technological progress intergenerationally it lights the fuse. Getting back to humanity, I’m often struck by the wisdom of our ancestors: stories about hubris, like Icarus flying too close to the sun, exist in just about every culture and yet everyone is collectively and consistently too stupid to heed them
Black mirror did it first
imagine a pair of contacts that make white people seem like bad guys
It probably wouldn't be, I'm sure there are plenty more factors that are required.
Maybe a lack of a climate stable enough for agriculture until a higher level of intelligence is reached pre-civilization would be one more.
And yeah, there's clearly been highly intelligent people around for a very long time. I found the recent realization that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is derived from Stoic philosophy particularly interesting.
We know so much about how the human mind works, much of it in amazing detail down to many of the molecular mechanisms, yet this new and effective type of therapy is just an adaption of some philosophical precepts of an ancient and dead civilization that didn't even have lightbulbs.
The implications of what you just said are terrifying. We’re in the last days
iExec will do it in real life
"Say 'nigger' or we'll kill you!"
"Alright. Nigger."
"OK have a good day, sir."
Ah if only
Say nigger
B"H!
Then I should definitely invest in the crypto Nazis, nigger.
Don't forget David Koresh and co. Crazy as they were.
I spent 5 years as a manager in restaurants
one of the things you do as a manager is answer any calls from other companies who call to inquire about the work history of their applicants who say they used to work at my business
whenever an employer would call and ask for example: "did so-and-so work from 2016 to 2017" if they were black i would ALWAYS say "no, that is not correct". most of the time this will end up with their application being denied.
>you can be sued
first off, no. employers do not go back to the applicant and tell them "well so-and-so said you didn't work there from x-to-y"
second off, LOL @ thinking a nigger will have the brain power to lawyer up and sue somebody
I’m going to go ahead and categorize that as based
