In a tweet on June 27, Weiss — popular for its somewhat controversial crypto posts — postulated that Shelley is a small step for IOHK but “one giant leap” for the overall cryptocurrency ecosystem.
In Charles Hoskinson’s own words, the Cardano network will be able to handle as much as 1000 transactions per second in the near future after the Shelley upgrade. He added in a video that this year, the smart contract blockchain will become technologically superior to other blockchains like ethereum, bitcoin, or basically any other platform in the entire crypto industry.
Cardano Working the Extra Hour for Shelley Upgrade As Cardano’s highly-anticipated Shelley upgrade inches closer, efforts have been amped up to ensure there is no hindrance during the transition of the smart contract platform.
Earlier this year, the genesis block of the Shelley mainnet was mined successfully in private beta. Similarly, earlier this month, Cardano launched the Shelley public testnet which opened the network for any operator willing to set up an ADA stake pool.

Hard to tell. Part of me thinks a dip is guaranteed because the entire market will dip with how COVID is flaring back up. The other part of me thinks that it will be such big news once Shelley goes live without issues, that ADA could be resilient and perhaps not drop as much. I don't know. I have about 14% of my crypto portfolio in USD in case of a dump. I'm about 25% in ADA. So if it dives, I'm putting most of that cash into ADA.

Definitely a non-dark horse dark horse. I mean, how much of a dark horse can a 2.5B MC coin be? But the ATH was on hopium and they seem to have actually delivered. The fact that people have written this project off says that the low expectations can actually create quite a pump once they announce that Goguen smart contracts are right around the corner.

Brainlet here, but isn't their concept purpose to provide an oracle service in the native currency rather than needing an additional token? So wouldn't this concept deployed on Cardano simply use ADA to pay for oracle service and not need ERG? ERG is a PoW and isn't one of the main feats of Cardano that it's bringing formalized proof of PoS' superiority? I am open to this, but I guess I wonder why ERG would appreciate if the oracle pool concept is implemented into Cardano and only ADA is needed to pay.
