Average Joe investor there’s probably significantly better options, but it’s not a bad idea to have some physical currency on hand in the event shit gets bad, even temporarily. Silver and Gold have never been worth zero, neither have bullets or food.

Plus it’s nice to have something tangible to see your wealth in a real space.
