My stepfather just passed away at the age of 54. He was still working and saving for retirement and didn't get to do a lot of stuff he had on his bucket list because he was so focused on retiring "early".
Is everyone living in a fantasy world where they save-up for those last 5 years of life when you're too old, feeble and lonely (because your friends and family have died/are dying) to enjoy as much?
Life expectancy for non obese people is like 85-90 now. Not really delusional
Daniel Hall
> 54 > retire early The absolute state of wagies. I plan on retiring (or at least being set for life) at around 30 yo. Maybe I will start a small business just for fun. Sorry to hear your stepfather died though.
Hunter Perry
The high iq move is to do all your bucket list stuff in your 20’s when you’re young, fit, and healthy. Exploring the world as a 25 year old beats the hell out of traveling and having fun as a 65 year old
Ryder Sanders
It's how waggies cope with the fact that if you aren't rich while young its over
Why wouldn't care if someone who was only interested in fucking his mother died? Step children hate their step parents.
Christian Adams
You should be saving to start developing passive income, working overtime forever is just a fucking waste, no matter how motivated you are you will break down.
Ryder Bell
The key word here is 'plan'
Aiden Rogers
I hear that man for real, fuck that penny pinching depressing lifestyle.
I busted my ass as a kid and a teen and now life is comfy as fuck even as a wagie.
All the retards who acted retarded as shit through school deserve what they get.
Nathan Lewis
Yeah, and to make a living from passive income you need to work till you are old as fuck.
Gavin White
>work 40 years >pay into fund >retirement
This will go down in history as one of those laughable delusions boomers bought into.
Josiah Jackson
Except these that make 100k a month on twitch
cope cope cope
Cooper Powell
feel the same way OP, father in law died 2 months after retirement. all the money went to his wife. was it worth it?
Wyatt Watson
>Stepfather >Loser in a broken family >Representative
William Foster
No. You just need to cut costs. How much does food cost you per day? How about transportation? Are you bagholding some thot's spawn or preparing to get a much younger chick after you're secure?
Jayden Scott
But yes, if you're an average poorfag wagie then it's a huge meme to slave away the best years of your life (20s and 30s) doing something you hate just so you can retire at 57 yo. Just stop cosooming so much, work less and enjoy life while you're young. The same way wagies 'plan' their retirement 30+ years into the future? What's your point? I have a $1MM net worth, need $2MM to /make it/ by my own standards. And that's if I do zero work for the rest of my life. I save 80%+ of my income and I'm enjoying life. It's not a big deal if I make it to $2MM at 32 yo instead of 30 yo.
Jason Miller
Kek, how many people make $100k a month in twitch? 50? 100? Maybe 200?
Anyone who can pull that off isn't retarded because they're competing against 10 million other fuckwads for the same limited spots.
Nolan Nelson
At 23 I quit my wagecuck job and got $800 per month in autism bux, obviously not much but I literally do not work at all. I'm 25 now and I've spent the last 2 years traveling around the country visiting national parks with my dog, visiting random cities and making friends, going to parties, trying drugs, having sex, etc. And when that gets too hectic I just come home to my small low cost rural house and work out, read, tend to my garden, etc. I would rather be 25 living off a free $800 per month than be 65 living off a free $3000 per month. Being able to afford more dumb shit like yacht cruises is not worth being an old soulless fuck.
Jack Mitchell
I do. I already have more money than most good goy wagies have by the time they're 65 yo and finally can start "enjoying life" (kek).
Juan Wilson
All jokes aside.
My uncle who was an amazing person. The dude had 6 months to go before retirement.. Diagnosed with ALS. Used to talk about everything he was going to do post retirement. Some kind of fucking luck.
Ayden Foster
even making 3k is better than wagecucking and commutecucking
Thomas Kelly
You fucked up. You should have went for SSDI instead of SSI and used all your money to pay taxes as an independent worker to so you could capture the ceiling of $137k or so on paper which means if you were young you could have worked an additional 2 years for a payout of $3050 in perpetuity. Instead, you didn't think and just applied for SSI and now you're stuck there at $800 a month. Not the worst fate but you should have thought this through.
Daniel Foster
>Anyone who can pull that off isn't retarded because they're competing against 10 million other fuckwads for the same limited spots.
>he believes in hard work/talent theory kek
its mostly luck, they arent special, its the halo effect of being famous.
Colton Carter
How do I get autism bucks
Benjamin Campbell
You are in for a rude awakening when your $800/month gets Weimar'ed
Benjamin Stewart
im saving 100% possible
i will be bald and old by the time i can afford a nice house with a pool and so on, its all a scam
you spend your prime saving, how fucking exiciting
Jackson Russell
He is on SSI. You want SSDI. Chained to inflation.
Carson Nguyen
there is a reason why social security kicks in around 60's. They want you to die before you can collect
David Campbell
Anyone got that Japanese (?) comic about a guy who keeps talking about how his real life will start very soon his whole life until he eventually dies of old age?
Isaiah Stewart
It's a fuck ton of hard work. I did something similar when I was younger and was pulling in $250k/year but I burnt out.
Bought a house with my monies and now I wage for a fraction of that, but my problems end when I clock out at 3 pm and I love every day.
Grayson Hall
Sorry to hear that user, hope he is at peace with the lord now. I think this example illustrates well the fact that people really ought to pursue something they actually enjoy doing instead of chasing money because you never know what the future holds. I would say the exception is if you're still relatively young and give yourself a time frame to reach a certain financial goal then things can work out, but if the plan is to wage for 30+ years doing something you hate that sounds like a recipe for disaster.
Joseph Wood
if I'm still working at 40 I'm killing myself.
Andrew Foster
Really makes you think. I wish I had used my 20s better. I wasted too much time playing videogames and being unhealthy. At least I got to have an interesting job even though the pay was shit.
