The other part is guys using daddys money to buy a ton of ads (the Tay Lopezes of the world) and push their shitty scams around.

i speak from experience, i have a yt channel and there's no clear conclusion to know what makes a video get recommended a fuckton vs other, its supposed to be watchtime, retention, CTR... some mixture, but the treshhold for these things probably change a lot so theres no real recipe, too many variables again, then there's the paranoia factor over shadow banning, throttling of content etc (see p-score)
