I realize Zig Forums doesn't know a god damned thing about finances, but I'll ask anyway. Every story I have ever seen about someone making a shitload of cash on some venture always falls into one of two categories (and typically both):
1: They inherited money and used their parents' wealth and connections to get more wealth for themselves through nepotism. 2: They ran a giant scam and lied to a bunch of people and cheated them out of money.
I want to know if there is some way to make it out of poverty starting with nothing without killing yourself in some hellish factory until you're 70 fucking years old (if the factory doesn't kill you first). Especially if you can't complete a college degree.
"making it out of poverty" is easy just pick a skilled trade of some variety, (traditional blue collar trades or something like healthcare, whatever) you just need to specialize in something. You are never going to make it wagecucking at a store or warehouse. Look into union apprenticeships, hard work not suitable for lazy neets but you can make a lot of money.
As far as making it as in being rich that's hard.
Adam Mitchell
Did he come up with a longevity supplement yet?
Josiah Rogers
No not at all.
Colton Sanders
2 main ways: 1. Create a successful business 2. Wage and invest as much as possible. Stocks / bonds if you want lower risk (but need to wait longer) or crypto for high risk (but can make it quicker)

>Just do a trade brah If this actually worked, nobody would have any financial problems. This is like telling people to "just learn to code".

This image is from the first page of a book written in 1992. To answer your question: No. To really answer it: FUCK NO, this field has been around for decades and made actually negative progress. We had more prospects in the 80s and 90s than we do now.
some1 posted on this very board like 3 weeks ago that Aubrey de grey and the SENS foundation came up with a supplement of their own for longevity with some picture evidence attached.. that wasn't real?
It is possible. There are a lot of very well paying blue collar jobs that at most require some technical training. You can make OK money weeding rich people's yards. You can make decent money working 80 hours a week on a wildfire crew. You can go into contractor work. The hidden cost with most of these things is usually your respiratory health, and back pain.

>human minds transfered into computer memory Dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. There's no such thing as moving digital data, only copying or copying + deleting ("moving")
Easton Martin
Not entirely true. There are a lot of people who don't want to touch things like carpentry and plumbing for the reasons I explained in
Jace Butler
yes, work the factory job and save your money. don't wallow in misery with drugs or alcohol. just some quick figures and food for thought
i've worked warehouse jobs for the last 10 years. I've smoked about 1-2 grams of marijuana daily for the last 10 years. at roughly $10 a gram, that is $35-70k on weed over 10 years. those are conservative estimates. while stoned you waste money on junk food to the tune of thousands. you waste money on video games and candy because you're stoned.
If I had not started smoking pot and saved that money instead, I would have at least $100,000 sitting in the bank, from factory jobs. you can use this money to escape poverty, or you should have along the way
Connor Martin
The way you do it, according to him, is move yourself over piece by piece, maintaining communication between both the artificial and the biological for the entire process, gradually merging the two, until your body stops functioning from old age at which point you shut it down and discard it. Of course you could just do a separate transfer if you want where you just upload yourself and then there would be two of you, but it's possible not to is the point, by following the protocol outlined above.
Joseph White
Howard Taft, one of the most libertarian presidents was against marijuana and drugs for that exact reason because it's inevitably a "tax" on poor people. Reminds of all the poor high school students I went to school with who would complain about their situation only to spend 20$ on a dimebag.
Colton Ward
No, YOU don't know shit.
>Muh immortal mouse This is exactly like how NASA holds a press conference about every six months to declare they've found water on Mars. There have been about 16 billion claims of immortal mice and none of them have ever been true.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_mouse#Life_expectancy >As of 2005, the record holder was a genetically engineered mouse that lived for 1,819 days (5 years, 39 days).[53] Another record holder that was kept in an enriched environment but did not receive any genetic, pharmacological, or dietary treatment lived for 1,551 days (4 years, 90 days).
So much for your aging cure. Also, 24% of a mouse lifespan is nothing. And it does not translate to humans at all. Not to mention the fact that literally nobody is using such a therapy on humans to even test the results to begin with.

>80 hours a week You failed to read OP, didn't you?
Kevin Hill
>Just don't eat avocados Yeah this thread turned into exactly the brainlet shitstorm I expected.
Kayden Nguyen
So, in closing, there is no way to survive in a capitalist system without resorting to crime or at the very least unethical behavior.
Burn it all down.
Connor Garcia
I read the OP. Wildland firefighters start getting paid, the moment their trucks start driving to an assignment until they arrive back at base camp at the end of the day. Sometimes they continue getting paid while sleeping if they are 'on call' and need to wake up at a moments notice. Aside from back problems, it's a pretty healthy job, and yeah get free meals daily and you get to see parts of the country that tourists pay big money to see. It's not the equivalent of factory work. On paper there's just more money because of hazard pay and long hours.
Parker Lopez
To escape poverty, yes. To get rich, no.
William Brown
It only works if you do
Jordan Davis
crypto of course
Elijah Martin
You aren't supposed to make it out of poverty. If you have good genes you will work so that your children get out of poverty. That is the mindset that gets your children out of poverty. If you only care about getting yourself out of poverty, you have the same shortsighted mindset that the rest of working class american consoomers have and deserve to be poor.
But yeah, you are right, if you want to be rich yourself those are the two paths.
Camden Gutierrez
it does work, but most blue collar workers waste their money on drugs, cars, debts, divorces, rent, etc
Jeremiah Miller
Learn to trade, not a trade.
Jace Cox
yeah, smoke at night even rather than all day. what? work and save your money
Leo Clark
Of course it is, you literally just have to save heavily like 30% of your income and that’s it, there are no other steps.
That won’t get you a mansion and lots of hookers and cocaine tho.
Grayson Cooper
Why do you want money
Camden Brown
Consciousness is obviously an emergent property not of matter itself but of its patterns of interaction, the process you've outlined here is based and fibration pilled.
Luke Baker
this, living for yourself will prevent your genetic line from escaping poverty on this playthrough, you have to life for your children
even if you get lucky and make it, you will just be cringey new money spending everything just to establish a name and keep up with the established names, and your next generation will be broke as fuck anyway
