Can someone explain to me why one should buy silver as a hedge against inflation instead of investing that money and allowing it to inflate (and potentially outpace inflation)? Precious metals are simply the most conservative way to conserve your wealth. They don’t go up quite the way stocks do, but neither do they go down for the most part.
Traditionally, gold and silver were regarded as a form of savings, very much distinct from investment in corporations or indeed speculative ventures of any kind.
