When copypasting the OP, please remember to remove the "[embed]" otherwise they stack up.

I want to get into physical PMs but I am super paranoid about getting fucked. Is there any sure fire way to make sure i'm actually getting the metal I am buying or does everybody just accept some risk?
Gabriel Butler
When you're just starting out, best to stick to trusted dealers like the ones at the top of the OP list. Avoid ebay, leddit, CL etc until you know what you're doing. You can do the quick tests in the OP, use magnets, do gravity test, etc. There's also an app that does the ping test, so maybe get coins/rounds at first. Do some research on the coins/rounds you're planning on buying, learn the common counterfeit "tells", look at fakebullion.com/index.php/resources/fake-bullion-database and fakebullion.com/index.php/resources/identifying-fake-bullion
weight scale index density test all in one. Thats primarily for gold. Just buy silver at the reputable sources like in the OP. The refineries & shops that list their items on the major distributers almost all have a public & social media outlet which make them more transparent.
Thank you guys. My dad has been literally screaming at me to get into silver so im trying to learn everything I can as quickly as I can.

Dont stack copper unless you have free pipes & bricks being offered to you. Right now if you're going to start stacking avoid dirty coins & silver.
Just go to to the OP's links. You can try going to your local pawn store, but most have been cleared out to where most big boss pawn shops aren't selling their remaining assets & in all honesty many pawn shops aren't going to be that trust worthy. I've only ever known 3 pawn shops to have actual ounces of silver or bars for that matter. I go to a lot of them & they're almost always selling "hobo art" or junk gold/silver.

avoid ebay and reddit, some of the legitimate dealers will have ebay accounts, but most of the time they're more expensive. the prices only go up these days... so hurry up user buy that shiny rock
say if someone did get copper ,would it ever be worth anything in the future. with dirty silver coins do you have to pay taxes like you do with pure silver?how are taxes done on metals.only when you buy it or ever year?
Jace Ramirez
The only copper you should stack is pre-1982 (US) pennies because they are 100% copper and already are worth more than their FV. The only reason you should stack them is because it takes just a minute or two to shift through your change for them whenever you have change. It's all the fun of finding a little gift and stacking metal at the same time!
Charles Rogers
HEAR YE HEAR YE, i propose the following change to the OP that we remove the bullion dealers altogether. and just leave the informational links and the findbullionprices.com site doing so will allow us ample space to add the status of the house wifes as well
will they ever actually be worth anything as copper and not just a penny?as a hypothetical in the world economy were to collapse ,would there be metals like copper and aluminum or other "junk" that would rise as the need for local manufacturing would rise?
Jordan Perez
so years ago, there was a bunch of hype over copper, its never going to be worth enough to not sell by the ton...
Justin Wood
what was the copper hype?
Adrian Wood
I SECOND this message and humbly request that our stated goal be silver 1:3 to gold AND have that information be ENUMERATED in the OP Probably not, but it's fun to stack and dream! Do check your change though, every once in a while an old silver coin crops up.
Jacob Cox
what are some other metals to stack besides gold and silver?that are actually valuable?
Zachary Cook
theres a great video about how theres only a few ores on the earth that aren't radioactive, silver and gold are 2 of them... so the other ones would make since but they won't moon it'd be more about having cool rocks... i'll look for the vid

>Do check your change though, every once in a while an old silver coin crops up. i have some change jars from my mom gave to me,so ill look through those.ive seen links and adds for dirty silver bags, and bulk buys are those real or just scams?
are there any valuable some what modern coins?
Anthony James
Possibly real, possibly scams; just make sure you know which coins are which. Luckily, it's pretty easy to remember.
