I have a PhD in Physics and an online certificate in business and finance from Coursera. I just accepted a call centre job earning $25k a year. AMA

Are you in debt? Why would you work for a call center instead of mowing lawns or doing any other low wage job? Can you not NEET it up? Did the people hate you at your university?

>overqualified
There is no such thing, change my mind.

Post proof

its the daily demotivation thread. just become a neet bro

Are those spelling errors in a news article? For shame.

>Are you in debt?
yeah about $60k

>Why would you work for a call center instead of mowing lawns or doing any other low wage job?
pandemic still ain't over bro. I'll be wfh

> Can you not NEET it up
nah not anymore. my wagie parents just couldn't take it anymore telling their normie friends that they have a 30 year PhD grad living in their basement.

>Did the people hate you at your university?
not really. i asked them for jobs. no one is hiring atm. tried tutoring but all exams cancelled till next year

my sister has a physics phd and works at nchain
sort yourself out

i agree with you to a certain extent, but its more of a perception and stereotype. like for example if you see a black guy walking your way, you just instinctively flinch even if they didn't do anything and even if you don't consider yourself racist

no way would i say im qualified for even the entry level jobs i apply for, but they still ask for 2 years min xp. shits fucked

It's a 2013 article you fag , no chink virus back then

How close are you to sudoku?
Are there only pajeets working there?
Are you a pajeet?

i know it is but it resonates with me because i unironically have a phd as well

how did she get in? what kind of position?
I'm a physics phd too and want to get a Blockchain job, but I feel like I don't know enough code languages

Why don't you have the quantitative and programming skills to get a halfway decent job? Was your physics PhD program total garbage?

Are you retarded? Accept any data science job for 100k+

>Why don't you have the quantitative and programming skills to get a halfway decent job?
I just don't like programming desu. I just reused matlab scripts others wrote during my phd

>Was your physics PhD program total garbage?
Yes

BA with major in Accounting, Masters in Finance, Juris Doctorate

Made it with crypto in 2017-2018 and now just gamble options and do some "consulting" gigs.

>Are you retarded?
probably

>Accept any data science job for 100k+
lol data science jobs go for 20k around here. pic related

If you had to do any major rewrites to those scripts you'd probably be a better programmer than pajeet already.

they approached her through linkedin about 2 months after graduating
the recruit woman was tchaita or something you can prolly find her on their website

a researcher position
it is well paid for a bong salary straight out of uni

not really no. and besides, i dont have a computer science degree. all these jobs require full stack experience. i'm 30 and never getting a job in this area lol

I'm guessing she put something like "interested in blockchain"?
Will give it a try

Damn I work at amazon with his dropouts that make more than that. I also work with an Asian kid with a masters in engineering that can't find a big boy job.

i dunno, i told her to apply when she just graduated and she ignored me ofc, then they contacted her and she recognized the name and went for it

I hate my parents so goddamn much. I did everything they fucking asked and I’m still a loser

I mean its definitely still better to have the credentials. I dropped out of high school because of untreated anxiety and now I'm old and body breaking down having to do physical labor. My fallback is literally hoping a retard on a forklift runs me over.

This is cherry picked, average data scientist salary is $65k in London

Diversity hire?

Instead of going to school you should have just worked at a gas station and put your money into ETH and then LINK. Are you fucking dumb?

>I'm a physics phd too and want to get a Blockchain job, but I feel like I don't know enough code languages

i entertained the possibility of getting a job in this area once, so know a thing or two. basically you need to know:
1) python (including a web dev framework like flask or django). knowing java would also be an advantage, but not essential
2) sql (mongodb, mysql or postgres)
3) html/css, javascript
4) docker and kube
5) git
6) travis cli
7) intermediate knowledge of at least 1 cloud platform (AWS is normally preferred)
8) linux
9) bash scripting
10) devops tools (there are several here just google)
11) algorithms and data structures (to pass interviews)

I wish I was joking
