I'll be honest. The bond market has not been happy since March and not distracted by the money printer. The oil market got a bit of the sugar high in June and now its learned its lesson. Really only the market seems to be euphoric about anything right now. To answer your question, as long as the oil company in question doesn't have enormous cash burn problems you could just buy and then log off your brokerage account until November.

the real trick is moving to Thailand. you can pretty much quit your job and live off of profits and dividends because a comparable apartment in NYC is only 300 dollars a month in Bangkok. foods great too, low crime rate, and plenty of western people live/travel/vacation there there so you wont feel like an outcast
