Sharingan was perfect in the original Naruto when it was an eye that allowed you to copy jutsy and even Mangekyo Sharingan was ok in first part Naruto.

MS in original Naruto was only used as a last resource technique, Itachi couldn’t spam it. It was Op as fuck and broken (Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi) but Itachi could only use it like one or two times in a fight and he would end up hurt and drained out of chakra

In Shippuden the sharingan goes to fucking shit with Tobi and Sasuke spamming MS powers like crazy, massive Susano monsters, izanami, izanagi and other bullshit I can’t even remember

Is there a character that could possibly EVEN TOUCH Obito Uchiha? Let alone defeat him. And Im not talking about 14 year old Obito Uchiha that fought the 4th Hokage while having perfect control over the Kyuubi, Mokuton and wielding Kusari Fundo. Im not talking about Orange Mask Obito Uchiha who can use Izanagi reality warping for 10 minutes and has both Senju and Uchiha DNA, Zetsu enhancements and Jikūkan Ninjutsu. Hell, Im not talking about War Arc Obito Uchiha with the Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan dojutsus (possessing Kamui and controlling the Edo Tensei Six Paths of Pain that have both Rinnegan and Sharingan), equipped with his Gunbai, control of Gedou Mazou and mastery of Katon while being an expert in fuinjutsu and Kekkai ninjutsu. And im not talking about Juubi Jinchuuriki Obito Uchiha who has control of the Juubi, Gudodama and access to Musekiyōjin, Shinju and Yin Yang release. Im talking about Obito Uchiha with Rikuduo Chakra, Double Mangekyou Sharingan with Kamui, a Perfect Susanoo and Kamui Shuriken.

I'd like to point out that power creep happened in the series every time after Itachi has appeared. Even before his first appearance, the only Bijuu that acted fully was Shukaku, and he was fine in how much power he was using, he seemed to be possible to defeat or at least restrain with a help of a summon, for example.
But then, Itachi started becoming recurring character. Sannin battle? That was fine, it felt like a battle between highest tier ninjas should be like.
Then Itachi appeared again. What soon followed? Great Snake Escape and Deidara's C0.
Then Itachi appeared again to show Susano;o, and Pain was next to appear to increase power scaling once more.
Then in the war Edo Itachi had his appearance. What has followed? Madara's Chakra Gundam.
And then Itachi released Edo Tensei, and power levels went off the charts.

Filler, except for Shin. Uchiha Shin isn't really an Uchiha, he's a guy with a quirky body that can accept transplants from anyone just fine, Orochimaru experimented with him and gave him a synthetic Mangekyo Sharingan or something like that, and he also clonned him a few dozen times.
