To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Mami’s personality. Her humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical Meguka physics most of the jokes will go over a typical weeboo's head. There's also the references to Japanese mythology and philosophy , which is deftly woven into each and every characterisation - such as Sayaka’s personal ability which draws heavily from Lencioni’s theory, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Mami truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate her, for instance, the humour in Madoka’s quippy remark "Looks more to me like 'Man uses the decimal system," which itself is a cryptic reference to Japanese linguistic. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Gen Urobuchi's genius unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Chibi Mami tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the lolis’ eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 graze points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

That theme really did hit. When it came back on episode 10 during the flashback; I teared up a bit.

Shit makes me cry every time I hear it now, even all these years later.

>Until she met Madoka, Mami was being crushed by her oppressive loneliness that itself has stood all these years as a testament to her foolishly selfish wish -- a constant reminder that she wasted a true miracle on saving only herself instead of the lives of the people who had mattered most to her AS WELL AS herself.

>She can never live a normal life again. She can never have a boyfriend, let alone a husband and children. The only people she could ever get close to -- other Magical Girls -- were just as likely to kill her for her "territory" as they were to befriend her.

>She constantly had to put her life on the line fighting terrifying, reality-defying abominations and monstrosities. Not for riches or glory, but for survival and for the lives of strangers who could never know who she was or what she did.

>And it was the one shining light -- that she was doing something good for the world and honoring her family's memories -- that kept her strong, even in her personal abyss of loneliness, regret, and guilt. Then one day, she finds out she's not only perpetuating a system of suffering and death, but that she too will become one of its monsters. And the person who's been with her this whole time, who saved her life, who she's served and protected all these years...he's the guy running the whole thing.

>You call her a psycho, a failure. I call her a victim, a hero.

I'm finally gonna watch magireco tonight.
I only played some of the english game. I absolutely believe that Mami would join a cult, I'm looking forward to that aspect of it.
