The first season was one of the best anime I've seen in recent years and about manga, contrary to popular opinion I like the "serious" parts, I would take them before the characters becoming one-jokes, although I recognize that it can also make the manga deviate too much from its initial premise.

I like that the anime focuses more on family stuff, the manga just doesn't have the same charm. The order in which the chapters were adapted could have been improved, but I understand since they were not planning to do a second season at the time.
