Well, I guess
you wished that you could turn back time.

...

TO THE GOOD OL' DAAAAYYSS

oh wait, wrong meeting.

But now the guilt is all mine

Watched eva + End of Eva last week for the first time.
Music and aesthetic was KINO, but other than that I was disappointed ngl.
They had built up the "mystery" behind the evas but it just fell flat.
Shinji strangling Asuka when he woke up was 10/10 though.

the "mystery" behind the evas isn't really the point. It turns out to be pretty cool if you catch all the details in world building behind it (which I don't think you did, because it's tough to get them on first viewings) but it's not really all that important

Can't live without the trust from those you love

i love that song, it makes me want to kill myself.

I know, you can't forget the past

Eva is literally a time loop.
Mark my words, the end of Rebuild 3.0+1.0 will bring us right back to NGE Episode 1.

HEY JUDE

That's fair, user. The mystery of the evas was important to the plot, but the show is much more concerned with its characters and how they interact/grow/implode.

I still think cloning a godlike alien being, lobotomizing it, grafting a mechanical cockpit into its spine, pumping it full of drugs, covering it head to toe in armor plating that helps restrain and control the beast, and then "piloting" them into battle against an array of other godlike alien beings is pretty fucking cool, though.

Oh yeah, and at some point in that process they transplant a human soul into the beast. Specifically, they use the soul of the pilot's mother in order to tap into their protective maternal instinct.

>implying it won't end with Shinji and Rei__ at the beach

You can't forget love and pride

You ain't felt nothin yet, buddy. This was a discarded alternative to Komm Susser Todd

fucking reifags
I swear to god, you people are the lowest scum in history.

Isn't that the obvious outcome?

One of the discarded drafts for EoE's final scene had Shinji waking up on the beach holding Rei's severed arm.

>Shinji is stuck in a perpetual loop of being sexually assaulted by Misato and bullied by Asuka
m..muh dick

Rude.

seek help you fucking degenerate

Thank fucking god. Jesus Christ, every time I learned something new about the production of NGE and EoE I get more convinced that the way it turned out is literally a miracle through divine intervention. The amount of dodged bullets and happy accidents is astounding.

Imagine that fucking tragedy in place of Komm susser todd playing to the third impact. big Yikes.

If loving Rei is wrong, I don't wanna be right

See what I mean?

Hold on, I think I was mistaken. I think it was instead of Thanatos at the very end, not KSD. It sounds a lot more like Thanatos, too.

Revision, editing, and refinement aren't miracles, user. They're a vital part of the writing process.

Also I don't know if this will make it better or worse, but the shot opens with Shinji holding Rei's hand, then it pans out or changes angles to show that there's nothing attached to it. It's not like he's clutching her arm like a teddy bear.

It's been so long since I read about this that I can't remember if Shinji knew that's what he was holding, if he was surprised, or if the leaked script just didn't mention Shinji's reaction.

tl;dr: some people really hate Anno for being too mean-spirited with EoE, but he could have been a lot crueler

>You thought Shinji found peace with Rei/Yui like in Instrumentality?
>Fuck you, it's a piece of her corpse
>Now listen to this song talking about how pathetic and hopeless Shinji/you are
Like what the fuck Anno.

I think Eva would've been better if Anno had been meaner.

>Revision, editing, and refinement aren't miracles, user. They're a vital part of the writing process.
Yes, but when there's so much of it and every leaked example, if not chosen correctly would ruin the whole thing, and then you consider that we have Anno responsible for making all these good decisions and then you remember he had total freedom and virtually unlimited resources for the Rebuilds and and how they turned out. I mean, whatever your explanation for that is just as believable as divine intervention.

>Eva would've been better
That phrase is non-sensical

Does he really have that much freedom with Rebuild? I thought he was mostly taking a supervisory position.

Even so, like the TV ending talks about, boundaries and constraints can help us be our best selves.
