I have literally not been in contact with a person who would be at risk in like 4 years. And yet I still have to deal with the burden of everyone else going hysterical. For what it's worth, I was complaining about the ridiculousness of this not being optional like it is in Japan, I wasn't saying I should be free from any burdens in life, I would be choosing one burden over the other, as I do every day. I don't actually care so far if I'm being honest as I'm not part of society and managed to get the things I wanted out of this as long as it ends relatively soon (which it apparently will). But it's exactly because of retarded nonsense like this that I will never contribute to society either. Western society is currently run by middle-class, hysterical women and faggots and the media that preys on these idiots. If it's up to them the lockdown will be permanent, or at least until the trustworthy media informs them that the prestigious international medical institutions have declared it safe.

Japan's lockdown was way lighter and they aren't seeing nearly as many deaths, likely because their media is playing it down, rather than up. They are a much more discreet people and the government has a less adversarial relationship with the media, which ironically enough means that they don't need to be nearly as draconic and not start arresting random people for going to the beach or walking around parks.

It's amazing what facts people will bend to fit their own brain. Think deeply, don't just insert the first thing you read. It's optional in Japan because their outbreak is MUCH smaller than ours. If we handled our shit early on like they're doing, maybe it could have been optional for us too. It's optional in Japan because people actually care about their neighbors and their neighborhood and their country in Japan. They've been wearing masks in public since SARS. "Optional" in the U.S. means nobody does it. I don't think I would be forgoing my paycheck if the suggestion was that it was "optional."

Anyway, if you don't consider yourself part of society then what's the problem? You seem to be angry for OTHERS you consider to be oppressed by this situation. If the masks are that magically effective, then it IS just the fucking flu. Tokyo is ridiculously dense in terms of population so if corona is as contagious as they say it is then having millions of people go through their subway system everyday should have resulted in thousands of deaths even though the majority of people were wearing masks. Sweden didn't even close any of their schools and they barely had any deaths either. It's impossible to say why in the US NY was so much more affected than, say, California. Something simply isn't adding up, the locations of the outbreaks seem to be random.

By the time this is over, the media's reactive hysteria will have done more damage than the virus itself.
