How did you feel about the other 1/3 of it where 8man dedicates poem after poem to Totsuka?
I thought it was a joke at first but he kept doing it.
Isn't he always joking with Totsuka? Compare the two, its obvious he's joking when it comes to Totsuka but serious with Yukino.
It didn't sound like a joke, user. It sounded like he was playing it straight (pun not intended).
Maybe it's some special kind of Japanese humor but by that logic anything could be misinterpreted.

Compare the tone of the two sonets, it has a different tone. For Yukino it's always used during serious circumstances.
He stops doing it when the story takes a more serious tone. It was obviously a joke.

Oregairu, at least originally was just a 1v1 romance. Haruno said it wasn't a love triangle. It just was harem bait to bring in the otaku so people can experience Watari's story.

It wasn't as prevalent as his monologues for Yukino. Totsuka is barely even present in the later volumes.
Not that guy, but 8man calls Totsuka things like an angel from heaven. Obviously that's not true.

Bullshit, in Vol 14 he's mesmerized by the sweat drops on Totsuka's neck in the sauna. The Totsuka fascination never lets up.

Anyway, the @comic manga does a great job of explaining a lot of the subtlety in the story that the anime does not. Definitely recommend it to anyone who can't be bothered to read the LN.

It's good. It's a bit behind the anime, but the narrative quality is overall superior to the monologue manga.
