I like watching subs and dubs

I watched the dub version as the improvement of having more attention at the visuals then the subtitles out weighs the advantage of slightly better voice acting.

Some dubs are classic though.

I feel like a dub with care put into it's localization and casting is always a treat. Idk why anyone would just default to subs better when the translation could be total shit for all they know.

The russian dub is cool, I think I like Mikuru better there but still prefer the the original for Kyon and Haruhi.

Kyon and Haruhi. Haruhi sounds a bit jarring at first but then it all clicks and you can't go back to Aya's low-energy Haruhi. Kyon... You'll fall in love with him from the opening monologue.
Out of the rest Mikuru is surprisingly watchable, dubs usually fail hard at moe characters.

Meh russian Haruhi is too onetone and tomboyish, Aya handled her erratic personality better with a voice with wider range of emotions. Kyon is fine but still not better than Sugita.

Dubs are only excusable if it makes sense within the show itself, or, if the show could have been made "dub-first" then "subbed" into Japanese upon release. For an example, Hellsing. Those could would be speaking English with their various national/regional accents, so dub is acceptable.
