Yusuke wasn't a faggot, but still had shonen protagonist shit taste. Also, Keiko wasn't bad either and might have even been a childhood friend.
Too bad Togashi wanted to end with his death at Chapter Black, so the happy ending is kind of hollow knowing it wasn't his intent.

All I know is Yusuke was going to stay dead and the way YYH ended isn't what Togashi wanted at all and just wanted to be done with because of fatigue from Shonen Jump making him continue it, so much to the point he wrote and published a letter apologizing for how much he must have disappointed fans.
Could he have recycled whatever his original intentions were for HxH? We'll never know.

>main characters with great chemistry never get to play off one another anymore since they've gone separate ways
>Kuwabara written out, but also all the side characters too: no more George & Koenma (until the end), no more Botan & the girls, etc. (all fixtures in earlier arcs)
>Chapter Black did a great job of moving away from "power levels" - the entire House of Four Dimensions arc is to teach Yusuke (and the viewer) that powerlevel doesn't matter if you don't fight smart to deal with special abilities -- Three Kings REVERSES that by literally bringing out a scouter in Kurama's story and talking about explicit power ratings. Farming for XP becomes canon as Mukuro has Hiei kill "100 A class demons" in a training room. It's comical because the viewer is supposed to accept now in this arc that the individual and their abilities doesn't matter anymore, just their demon power level.
If I sat down and thought about it more I could probably get 5 or 6 more good reasons but these are off the top of my head

I ain't gonna argue against most of your narrative points i agree about missing characters and all that. I disagree that chapter black moved away from power levels. Ranks are just power levels in disguise. And they might have been beating a dead horse but the winner of the last tournament wins because ranks don't matter and the strongest wiped each other out prematurely. Hell even the stupid kid needed fighting experience to wield his stupid power. So same beats, just with a different setting.

Actually it was 500 A Class demons. Considering they considered Younger Toguro to be upper B class, They fucked too much with the power scaling so Hiei fighting those "A Class" demons felt hollow.
