are they bad for the anime industry? what shady shit have they done
Are they bad for the anime industry? what shady shit have they done
yes
Spreading resource thin.
No.
inb4 muh sjw boogeyman
Latest I can think of is funi dropping reviewers because it didn't fit their political agenda
>are (((they))) bad for the anime industry
of course,
netflix it's ok.
>are they bad for the anime industry?
They are making anime more accessible for baka gaijin so yes.
While I do dislike foreign companies meddling too much within anime, Netflix proved they can make something worthwhile. Japanese are too focused on tried and tested formula of producing samey shows with predictable troupes and characters that is immensely popular with Otaku. Netflix is the opposite of that.
Excluding the facts that Crunchyroll went the illegal to legal route and pay their workers low wage they are the least worse service since they don't meddle with making anime more western.,Provide decent subs and even brought Tower of God to life.
Yes.
Exclusivity deals.
Next question.
>boogeyman
netflix in particular is awful, most the shows they put out tend to have luciferian themes and symbolism.
They aren't bad since they are investing on a dying industry which begs for 15k dvd sales. Anime is changing and there is nothing you can do about it.
I can stop watching the newest shit.
And no difference was made.
There was. My mind not being polluted.
Crunchyroll pay people next to nothing, thats it really.
SPAM
They make anime more accessible so of cause the hipsters here will hate that. Netflix has done jack shit. All they do is buy shows and pretend its somehow a netflix original. Funimation does the same but doesn't pretend they made it.
Side note, but funimation has actively made dubbing even worse. They must have llike only 5 different VA's
No, because no one cares about you.
Bro..
>They must have llike only 5 different VA's
didnt they had more cast in the early 2000s what happened
Crunchyroll used to upload fansubs after licensing an anime, under the argument that fansubbers have no rights and they owned the translations through copyright.
Regardless of if it's true or not, I found it unethical and retarded. Why should I pay money for some middleman to watch a fansub? I can just download the fansub for free. Fuck off.
Funimation's sins date back longer, when they opened a voice acting studio in Texas for the DBZ dub that was non-union. Ocean Group and 4Kids used union actors, and the quality of those early actors were bad. They also replaced the music with shittier dub music.
While 1990's dubs had some bizarre script edits and censorship, they were on the whole way better acted and had better musical scores than Funimation's crap.
>what shady shit have they done
What do you mean user? They just stream anime
Not a boogeyman. There are countless documented cases of Funi changing dialogue to conform to vanilla/Western sensibilities. In Fruits Basket they even toned down a verbal (not shown onscreen at all) to someone being beaten. Not raped, not tortured, just beaten.
>under the argument that fansubbers have no rights and they owned the translations through copyright.
It's funny because that's not how copyright law works.
whats bad is PIRACY... if you like the anime you should stream it...
didnt they change some dialogue in miss konayashis dragon maid to make one of the dragons a feminist
I don't think they've really had much impact on the anime industry at all
They are good economically but bad artistically
>If you like the anime you should use corporate servers to repeatedly download the anime for free instead of fellow anime-watchers' computers to singularly dowload anime.
