Pathetic

Oh boy there's nothing I love more than autistic scanslation group drama
Once the manga is behind schedule, all bets are off.
I remember when this was a thing with Hinomaru only for them to purposely fall back behind when the sniping stopped to get more money out of their donators, it was disgusting and is why I'll always hate faggot angels.
man we all as manga readers shouldnt be against snipers.
first of all, we are already sniping professional rtanslator and doing free work
second, this is how markets grow, if you can satisfy people with your service, people will want someone that does it better, and if you want to keep doing it, you have to improve to keep up
>man we all as manga readers shouldnt be against snipers.
Have you ever seen someone who isn't a braindead tranny say something against "sniping"?
Patreon and the like have ruined so many things. Well, I shouldn't say that: the seedy creators and exploitable retards have ruined shit. I'm not even against making money off doing translations, but if you're taking money, I expect professional behavior. "But you're getting it for free" isn't an argument anymore the moment you accept money. But why change if the people who throw their dollars at you don't punish these fags by withholding payments until change occurs?
only zoomers care for this shit
back in my day nobody cared if there are multiple groups doing translation
what makes scanlations and autism go hand in hand like that?
literally Hot Chocolate scans with D-Frag!
>rando starts scanlating
>group says they were gonna post so stop posting
>group doesn't post
>rando stops posting
With more popular series, you can end up with a dumb race to the bottom between groups to get a chapter out sooner (since most people read whatever releases first regardless of the quality) but fuck people who squat on series for weeks without doing anything
Based.
To be honest, I used to shit on the faggots who would "snipe" Kimetsu (at least on this site) because they were inferior products and the original was literally getting dumped and translated here hours after release so all the sniping was just using gook scans or the terrible official translation. People who snipe because something is popular and not coming out one day sooner are just retarded. A lot of the best manga of all time are theoretically associated with an active group but take months if not years between chapters, go snipe those (or collaborate with the groups under the condition they release faster).
You have to be pretty autistic to translate, edit, and redraw shit for fun. Though, it’s still a more productive kind than what I’ve got so I can’t really make fun of them too much.
entitlement.
>typesetter gets kicked out of the group for being an asshole
>starts releasing google-translate-tier shit
>still can't beat the original group in quality OR speed
>professes to hate the manga because the plot went to shit and his waifu lost
>still manages to keep that up for 9 months all the way until the series ended
I don't know what drives that guy
You shouldn't be taking money, period, unless you're paying the original artist their royalties. Accepting donations just to help offset your costs is fine in theory, but it's a very slippery slope from there to running a profit in practice. It was one thing back in the tape-trading era, when people would ask for the cost of a blank tape, but the viability of that model went out the window with digital distribution.
Patreon was supposed to make it easier to be transparent about how much money you were getting, but in practice it's made it easier than ever to draw way more in "donations" than is necessary to cover costs because so many people seemingly no longer have any qualms about paying professional pirates.
Imagine PAYING to pirate. Jesus christ the sheer paradoxical vortex of cuckery is unbeatable.
yeah it's almost like they get paid on a monthly basis and it's in their best interest to delay as much as they can to squeeze money out of retards
>defile
What did he mean by this?
Autism.
Henry?
Would you guys ever pay to translate stuff that would never be translated otherwise? Like commissions
Which manga is this?
Haven't really read it, but garbage TLs and such I would assume. Maybe no cleaning or proofreading.
If I had a steady and good job, with disposable income, I might. Would depend on the prices given and quality. There’s only one current series I would consider it for, because it seems well and truly dropped
I'll never forget about the old Hanako translator who was an extreme moralfag that complained about shotacons while translating a shota manga.
Yes, and I have for hentai doujins
Are you unaware of LHT and the quality of their shit?
You can try comparing their quality against Zig Forums's here: mangadex.org
for doujins
yes
but regular manga
no
How much did it cost?
Like 95% of what LH does reads like it was machine translated and the typesets are only slightly worse than the garbage scan quality
>Patreon was supposed to make it easier to be transparent about how much money you were getting
I thought they removed that. I only ever see patron counts, not dollar amounts.
Sono mono. Nochi ni, you should know exactly what you're getting into 1-3 chapters in but I still foolishly hoped it would get better, dropped it around 10 chapters in or so
Interested in this too, how much you guys paid? And who did you ask
>Showed off
>Never posted again
Based.
depends on the group/person
how long the doujin is
how much writing is in the doujin
the content of the doujin
cheapest I found was 2 USD per paragraph
luckily I wanted a CG set translated so it didn't have much wording
about 30 USD total
