No it doesn't . Did Luffy actively search for clues for the treasure? No. Only 800+ chapters into the story, then he starts actually "search" for it. Most of their adventure could have being skipped or compressed, it's all inconsequential shit.

I don't care that we haven't learnt much about One Piece yet. What does bother me is all the other mysteries set up that we still no nothing about. How do we still not know what the fuck a devil fruit is? Why haven't we seen Vegapunk yet? How come we still know so little about Dragon? How much longer do we have to wait for Luffy and Shanks to meet again? Stuff like that bothers me way more than the endgame goal. As it stands I expect the last 3 volumes of One Piece to be a mind numbing exposition dump.

In Zou we learnt how they can find the way to Raftel and now in Wano we learnt a bit about Roger both of which were nice but not really enough to validate 95 volumes of setup. There isn't a single arc in OP that wouldn't be better if it was at least 20% shorter. If I was that sort of autist I would make One Pace: The Manga

These aren't all of them but you get my point. Almost all of these has nothing to do with One Piece. I get it, Luffy is an adventurer, this is his adventure and he keeps reminding us that he wants to be pirate king but he never worked toward that goal, which is finding the one piece.

This is all because Oda keeps adding more question instead of answering them, spending more time hyping up jobbers, wasting precious chapters on side-characters that we will never see again or not important to the story.
