Unironically my favorite akatsuki duo. These two complimented eachother well both abilities wise and personality.

Only other two that really came this close were kisame and itachi or kakuzo and hidan. After all the akatsuki pairings died off it kinda felt like something was missing from shippuden with the akatsuki. Imo it was that they were people with their own lives and personalities outside of just being the big bad.

Deidara was an art fag, talked dumb shit with tobi and messed around with him. Itachi had this pessimistic and recluse feel to him while kisame was similar but in a much different way to itachi. Kisame had lost faith in the ninja world after having to kill so many of his allies but he found a new home with those that (ironically given how obito and madara played things) wouldn't betray him and thus was the upbeat to itachis bitter personality.

Hidan just enjoyed what he did kakuzo was the grizzled veteran.

All and all the akatsuki was full of personality and the pairings made them all fun to watch. Akatsuki lost the personality when only obito was left and it lost that even more when you learn obito did it all for some 13 year old pussy.

The Tobi shown in the earlier episodes of Shippuden aren't Obito but Swirly, the spiral faced White Zetsu.
Same voice, same mannerism.
