Inexplicable missing boundary
Daily GA Chapter
That's all for today. Noda gets divine powers and destroys the universe. She truly is an agent of chaos.
Noda has become the new God.
I hate it, but the first thing that came my mind here was the heart.
Quite a bit later, but Intro to Scanning:
My preferred debinding method is to use a clothes iron. It can make a bit of a mess of the iron, but they're cheap enough you can buy one just for scanning. Set it to the wool setting and it shouldn't ever burn anything. Just smoosh the spine of the book against the iron for 30-60 seconds. Many books also have glue that goes around the corner to the front and back cover, so you may need to heat that part too. Then you should be able to slowly and carefully peel the cover off. Just be gentle and don't force it to come off and you won't damage anything, it should be close to falling off by itself.
Once the cover is removed, hold the spine against the iron and start peeling the pages apart in the same way. With larger artbooks, you'll have to do the top and bottom halves separately.
If you have a paper cutter, it can sometimes be helpful to trim the formerly bound edge to get it clean and straight. But if you don't it's not a big deal.
Then it's just scanning. Use a flatbed at 600 dpi and save as uncompressed TIFF. Turn off all of the automatic features, color correction, etc. It's going to look weird and grey with lifeless colors, but that's what you want. Photoshop will do a way better job of that then the scanner. They will also be 100+ MB each, but that's the price of quality.
Pro tip: scan the cover both before and after debinding, just in case. It often comes out better before.
Then it's just making it look nice in Photoshop. If you want someone else to do that, you can just upload them as is, or that can be another lesson later.
Nice to see what other anons do for debinding. I mostly do the microwave since if you know what to do, it's one of the fastest.
As for cleaning (read: making it look nice in photoshop), I can do it, just contact me so I can keep in touch with you for when you start scanning . When I said I could do anything but translating, I was saying so seriously. Many "cleaners" nowadays are just redrawers who can't delete jpg noise, much less work with physical scans.
Not that user but this is great information to save if I ever need to debind someday. Sankyu.

Sounds like a name for a Touhou doujinshi. And the story wouldn't be out of place in a Touhou doujinshi.
Everyone uses digital raws now and I hate it. They nearly always look terrible because they're compressed to death.
This. Comic Fuz's raws for the Kirara manga I work on are 2300 pixels tall; yet are blurred as to not look compressed (nevermind that we can see it if we adjust levels a bit)
This is some meta 4th wall stuff.
Thanks OP. desu, I would probably do the same.
>Why can't I remember?
Can she only remember her boobs?
Well I am that user, thanks for the info. When it eventually arrives, I'll give it a try.
Thanks for the chapter, OP. What kind of world the rest of GAs would create?
Kisaragi would make everyone into cute animals.
Pretty sure that would be safer than microwaving it anyways. As I said, feel free to contact me for cleaning the raws in Photoshop, I have some experience in working with actual scans as opposed to compressed digital rips.
What's happening here?
I swear to god if that's you, Natsume
>Natsume
You're one letter off. I won't reveal the specific name until the artbook finally arrives into scanner user's doorstep anyway.
Asou (A sou).
Why was she born?
Teaching Keito Japanese.
Thanks OP, I was not expecting so much meta in one chapter
now, can we say noda is the most powerful GA?
>Ironing the book
that must also take some serious will power
At least you're not exposing it to radiation.
