Nyu is completely irredeemable, and the ending cucked out hard by giving her a "sympathetic" death.
Nana was a complete failure as a foil to nyu. None of the other characters ever take into consideration that she is peaceful at heart when gauging the potential of diclonii to live alongside humans.
Rape and Piss girls were extremely pointless to include at all. They contributed absolutely nothing to the narrative.
The villains plan made absolutely zero sense. He already had a means of creating diclonii who were able to reproduce (and already had a diclonius son). He had no reason to capture nyu at all, nor do anything besides silently infect more humans. Despite wanting revenge for his lineage, he was far crueler to the children in his lab than humans were.
This was just a glorified fluffy abuse, and edgy in all the wrong ways. Fuck this manga and fuck the user who praised it as a masterpiece.

Well there you go, can't say it was entirely pointless that you watched it then can you? I doubt we'll ever see much anime like it every again which is a shame. That opening sequence of Lucy breaking out to the facility remains to be one of my favorite hooks of all time, again just because of the rediculous spectacle. I really should watch it again.
