Why is nobody talking about Blue Period?
Why is nobody talking about Blue Period?
it's good
no translations for 2 months, which sucks because it's at a pretty entertaining point
Zig Forums doesn’t talk about good manga.
I read the beginning and I thought it was well done but I couldn't really connect with it. I'm probably not in the right demographic. shrug.
cuz uts irrelevant, and not kimetsu no yaiba
What i like about Blue Period it's the focus on art and nothing else, so no shenanigans about school life like most of manga use, and you can even learn a couple of things about art.
Thread aside, i'm tempted to do a weekly manga general thread, for those manga who doesn't survive past 50 posts, hoping it catches on.
Looks interesting. Give me a quick showdown, what's it's about.
I would actually be interested in this.
Space Brothers but with art.
I like it, the focus on art and the character development are done right. The art itself is also pretty great.
I read a few chapters but it didn't really click for me.
idk its great
this
Because it's good. Also I suspect it hit a bit too hard with what the real world is like. Characters are realistic, hard working, and passionate.
Realisticly cool teenager discovers art through painting and drawing, and set his sight on entering an art college.
>What i like about Blue Period it's the focus on art and nothing else, so no shenanigans about school life like most of manga use,
this is objectively wrong and would be incredibly boring
Pages like these wouldn't exist without a heavy focus on characters lives outside of strictly making art
Using dozens and dozens of art piece made by other people is unique I guess.
I fear its going to quickly turn into something lame when a goal is reached.
This is not "shenanigans about school life", but about the relationship of a side character to art itself.
>but about the relationship of a side character to art itself.
it's about her relationship with her family which is the definition of "school Shenanigans" in a slice of life or does it only count for you when it's directly related to school if so what about the trap character and the MC's relationship with his friends
>Space Brothers
Fuck I need to finish reading that. It's cute.
Not the original user you're replying to, and in that regard I agree that the manga is not "only about art"; but what I meant is that the slices of life that are being used in the manga are, from what I remember, all directly related to art.
Art can be about competition, family issue, self worth, etc. That is what this side character is about; showing the MC and the readers the various investment one can make into art.
So while saying it's only about art is too restrictive, I wouldn't say it is the definition of "school Shenanigans".
Too artsy fartsy and focuses too much on DUUUUUDE JUST EXPRESS YOURSELF LMAO. I like it when they focus on the craftsmanship more like they did in pic related
>Too artsy fartsy and focuses too much on DUUUUUDE JUST EXPRESS YOURSELF LMAO.
I never really saw it that way. I mostly enjoyed the internal struggles that the MC had like pic related. The bits that discuss the craftsmanship are also good; although I have to agree, it doesn't focus on it enough.
Kinda like these parts too. I've been writing for years, and I really like the author's approach to creation.
second this board hardly talks about the good manga
I don't, teenage angst gets boring pretty fast
It's just that translation was abandoned for years, they've only picked it back up now. It's pretty good
>weekly manga general thread
This board used to have that in the past.
>teenage angst
I feel it is actually explored really well, and for once a driving force to the story, since it is exactly what art can be used for, dealing with angst.
But if these themes don't interest you, the manga is definitely not for you indeed.
I wouldn't call it angst.
Yep I had to learn japanese and mostly french to read it. If you are asking French, it's because it's almost up to date in the French translation.
