The thing I'm worried about with cardano is why base it on haskell? I understand that it sounds good in theory with the whole "no possibility of bugs" built into the system and that sounds ideal for finance dapps. But it's still one of the least popular languages out there and that doesn't bode well for adoption.

Whats even more dismal is that IOHK contract to develop Cardano ends this year. So they are going to throw Cardano to the community and nobody knows fucking haskell

on chain dApps don't need to be coded in haskell to interact with the chain, only Cardano core has to be programmed in haskell

lol idk why people on this board never do any research. Look up Marlowe, it's a DSL being developed for cardano for smart contracts. They're also working on the ability to have other languages be cross compiled to plutus (their own language - an abstraction of Haskell) such as JavaScript. .

Not true. Both Charles and IOHK have already stated they will continue development on cardano until all roadmap eras are completed. Then the community can decide (after treasury and governance) via vote to extend contract even further.

I've been staking on the Shelly test net and it's fast as fuck and simply amazing. Your only fud against ADA is "MUH YOU CANT USE IT" when in reality you can. If it's not that, it's "THEY ARE GOING TO DEYLAY MAIN NET" And I can tell you they are not going to delay it. The code is all open source, anyone can inspect it, audit it and it's all there in it's entirety.
