They (or at least Konata) literally does observational humor routinely, and the show is exactly about nothing, whereas K-on both has (ostensibly) some kind of plot/end goal and there isn't remotely the kind of cynical relationship like Konata/Kagami, which is a bit like George/Jerry in that they aren't even all that similar or friendly to each other all the time, yet are still best friends anyway.
