I am Tenma.
Far too much filler that amounts to nothing other than beating you over the head with the fact that Tenma is a good boy, over and over again. I'd even go so far as to say that episodes focusing on other main characters, Grimmer, Lunge, Eva and Nina, are more interesting than watching Tenma stumble around in the dark and make friends through sheer luck.
Johan's trap antics were hilarious. That it was played completely straight AND Tenma pretty much refused to acknowledge the entire thing happening made it even more so.
Nina is my waifu.
terrible opening
kino ending
too slow, I ended up droping the series at around the chapter 20 something, not sure if I should give this a second chance
Anime pacing is off compared to the manga, feels way too slow.
Is there any reason for that? Isn't it supposed to be a 1:1 adaptation?
Because you can read faster than you sit through shit. The pacing isn't different but your ability to just speed through the boring parts is easier.
Don't listen to what those anons say. The pacing is fine and there is no filler; they all just have very short attention spans.
IMAGINE LIKING LITERAL SHIT AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Why insult your favourite anime, user?
This
Pretty good. Got a little tired of Tenma and Nina going "No don't shoot, I must shoot" "No you don't shoot, I'll shoot"
My favorite manga hands down. Read the manga at least twice, and watched the anime.
I get this complaint. But remember this is a realistic manga. And it's not easy for your average guy to shoot a man in the head. Tenma has had a live basically void of violence (as far as we know) in till he decides to hunt down Johan.
This manga/anime handled the mary sue character type the best out of everything I've ever read or watched. Johan is this impossible character, that has god like skill in manipulating people and is just all around ultra talented.
They make this Johan guy feel believable, because even the characters in the story talk to him like he's a literally mystical monster. The investigator comes to the conclusion that Johan is just Tenma, because to him Johan can't exist. There's no way this kid has committed all these murders without leaving a trace of evidence.
And then the scene where the investigator finds Johan's apartment at college. He realizes that he exists, that the very room he stayed in looks like it hasn't been touched by a human. He realizes that Johan is real and that he's just this damn good. And calls him a demon.
Will Pluto ever get an anime adaptation?
I can't tell if Zig Forums likes this series or hates it.
lol fair point
i don't think there was any filler either. everytime i thought it was going down a sidetrack i got worried, but then those eps always ended up being amazing in their own right. the pace is slow but strangely entrancing, great bedtime show.
it's so good
The idea that being slowly paced is a bad thing really is common here on Zig Forums. I dislike that mindset.
Zig Forums is almost always divided. He hardly ever likes or hates a series.
Absolute garbage and urasawa is a hack
this
I still don't get who the "Monster" was supposed to be, unless it's the simplest answer of Johan, in which case is the story arguing some monsters are born and not just made?
Well ya, they're just shitposters. There will always be those idiots around.
It's basically either the story is too rushed or it's too slow with these guys.
user, Johan wasn't born a monster.
Definitely made a monster, not born a monster. And it's very obvious johan was the monster, who else?
I am a Japanese man
Martin's story made me come close to tearing up.
Tenma's desing is pretty good when he goes full gritty
so many amazing characters
