Detective Conan

This was the last good thing Gosho produced and it was surprising he wrote it after all the years of mediocrity.

Any arc featuring Akai will be good.

I'm fine with Akai, it's every other of his family members minus Haibara's side that I can't stand.

Yea. The introduction of his family was completely unnecessary and has created a lot of plot holes.

I just don't like his whole always introduce things by 3. It always add too many characters and at the end of the day all these characters are connecting somehow.

There's been other "good" chapters since that 6 year old arc, user. The main thing that pisses me off is that the FBI hasn't had enough prominence. I want to see more of them in everyday situations not being regulated to whenever Gosho has a big story to tell. No, Akai's meandering around in a stupid squinty boy costume doesn't count. What are James Black, Jodie Starling, and Camel doing on an average day? Why doesn't Conan bump into them? I know they're not so up into the Black Organization's ass that they're cooped up in some private room doing recon.

Jodie was the most prominent member aside from Akai, due to her relationship with him and that godawful "SHOOOO" hunting, but she hasn't shown up in 4 years. I'd at least expect her over James and Camel due to that, but it seems like she stopped mattering once the Akai death settled down. I'm pretty bored of the basic Mouri trio cases, and we could stand to lose a couple hundred Detective Boys cases. You can just have Conan bump into these extra characters, no one's going to be like "that doesn't make sense" 1000+ chapters into a daily murder encounter manga. I'm going to be pissed if after all the stuff Gosho has introduced to keep the plot/backstory stuff flowing for years, we don't get to learn more about James and Camel too. Jodie's already had a Vermouth flashback at least.

Literally the only reason I gave a shit about the corona'd movie this year was because I actually like the FBI and even though everyone in it is now just a vessel for Akai and Akai dick sucking, I still would like to see them exist even if it isn't canon.

The Akai family thing is hard to invest in and even keep track of. I regularly forget details of all the convoluted connections and ongoing side things. I'm glad Gosho is keeping things fresh the best he can but it's inevitable that too much builds up.

>There's been other "good" chapters since that 6 year old arc
Yeah I'm obviously exaggerating, but it feels like the last time things stayed good for a while. Amuro's Character, a character that I hate, was the best during this arc, tension was nice, and the trickery was good. I don't like the Akai wanking at all, but when he's involve it sometimes can be a great time. Which sucks because I really used to love the murder mystery in this series, but Gosho hasn't managed to write one in a while which I found interesting.

I thought you sincerely thought that because I could see where you'd be coming from. For instance, the case that furthered Shinichi and Ran's relationship, the overall mystery of that case was pretty weak to be attached to something so big and a must read which undermined the arc. Plus there's the complete nothing reveal of who the boss is that comes randomly with lack of proper suspense and deduction. Yusaku just kind of drops it out of nowhere, then they're talking about being in a do or die situation, his parents move in, and we're back to daily random cases. They're still good in a sense that Conan's chapters don't hit too many lows, but they're not as stand-out as you'd expect.

I also wish for more heartfelt non-plot chapters, ones like Moonlight Sonata or the twins marriage one from Amuro's debut. I don't know why we couldn't get something that meaningful in the School Trip arc. It'd have really helped. Maybe he's saving them for better times, everyone loves the comfy murder mystery setup in general, it doesn't really need to sell itself on heavy ones anymore.

I agree about the rest you said too.

Yaiba was good and fun you fuck

Does a full translation of that manga even exist?

yes if you know something other than english

Gosho doesn't give a fuck anymore Conan is his money machine so he'll just keep regenerating dull cases one after another

i wish they could do a new spin off with Lupin but also adding Kaito Kid in it

The only spinoffs you'll be getting is gay police and zero's tea time.

you forgot another one

how come i never heard of that but it'll be delayed i presume

>720p
There's a good torrent of 1080p now.

Also I can't believe people still believed that even after Conan showed up and said it wasn't happening and they put a red X over the summer 2020 banner. At best you'd get some one-off thing like returning to a TV special, or manga, but it was blatantly a joke. Besides how would you even do a vs story where their schtick is getting away, both of them?

It was a joke teaser at the very end of the Lupin crossover movie.

>how come i never heard of that
It's a joke added at the end of the Lupin III crossover movie.

i hope its a soon to be kind of joke

I know but I watched it last year in cinema which was an even better experience.

they should do more manga/anime about thieves or conman

You probably didn't get the memo but 2020 is the year where good things start happening even less than they already were. Don't hold your breath.

Was that in Germany? Either way, that's pretty lucky.

Still waiting for a Cat's Eye comeback.

>Was that in Germany? Either way, that's pretty lucky.
Yes krautfag reporting in.

i hope they do at least an ova after that lame cameo in Shinjuku Private Eyes

I doubt it but if they do they should use the manga ending this time. Anyway it's still 3 years until the anniversary.

I'm really not that invested in the main story with the organization and it's boss. I read Conan for the cases where him, Ran, and Kogoro are traveling, then somehow stuck in a storm and it descends into madness.

>I'm really not that invested in the main story
That's a good thing since the main story isn't the focus of conan. Too many plotfags get filtered by this.

i was more into Conan and his little detective gang
