Do you think the ease of accessibility of media has ruined people's taste?

Yes, even though there are so much more being produced genuine masterpieces like Fire Punch are still as rare as they were 20 years ago.

this but unironically

No, I believe the core Zig Forums audience likes roughly the same kind of series they've all liked. The ease of access has however drawn in a bunch of casuals and bona fide normies which has had a severe impact on what kind of content is being produced and warped the market.

No,it has ruined the quality of discussion.

These

This. We now need to force the new people into our culture of discussion, no matter how long it takes.

Only in the sense that it has ruined people's patience. Episodic or slow-burning series are becoming more and more rare because GOTTA BINGE BINGE BINGE

No, people still gratitate towards the most trending pieces even if the variety of entertainment has expanded.

not really.
It hasn't as much ruined people's taste, as it allows lesser works to proliferate more and further drown out the better works. Having easier access to more works, good or bad, would only serve to refine one's "taste".

If one's taste is ruined *now*, where accesibility to good, less mainstream media is easier than ever, it's completely on them for not branching out or looking deeper into whatever medium they're into.

If you're talking about discussion quality however, or just the general level of discourse, especially on Zig Forums, it's less due to how accesible anime and manga are, it's always been incredibly easy, it's moreso due to how much more mainstream and exposed Zig Forums, and by extension, Zig Forums has become.

This isn't the little, abrasive cubby hole it used to be years ago. All the high profile incidents tied to the site and site culture as a whole only serves to increase the amount of newcomers, and with that, the amount of newfags who refuse to step outside their comfort zone, both in terms of media they consume, or how they engage with discourse.

What a retarded thread

Then just force them to improve by showing them the light.

>Thanks to the ease of accessibility, almost-

It has eroded collective taste, but also revealed who individually has genuinely good taste.

I have good taste in Japanese cartoons for teens

Yes, popularity has an inverse relationship with good writting.

you can have good taste in anything. You can always improve. If you love something, love it right.

I love thought provoking mangos and animes for mature readers with refined tastes. Like Homunculus and Berserk.

You can only convince people so much from another side of the screen, much less anonymous.
And newfags who get pulled to this site specifically probably did so due to its unfortunate notoriety, and will probably not be so easily coerced to be more open minded about the media they choose to consume, much less how they talk and discuss with other people.

if you changed the life of only one person, you've done the right thing

What is good about fire punch besides that one face? I know almost nothing about it.

It's a fun romp. It's not a masterpiece but it's so bizarre and entertaining I'd recommend it to anyone. The face is just a dumb fucking meme.

What ruined peoples taste is the fact that everyone reads the same recommended shit and obsesses over it. Just pick a manga randomly and read it homos, just pick by cover. That's the only way to encounter the unknown

I don’t get the agni face meme

>You can always improve
There's unironically a limit to how much of a "taste" you can have if you remain on the consuming side. Some things only artists and writers can appreciate.

>What is good about fire punch besides that one face?
It's great crossboarder detector. For example this thread was made by Zig Forumsbro.

What is the Zig Forums's style, anyway? A high-level enlightened discussion, or just some discussion and some fun allowed as long as the 60% of the message is something meaningful instead of just shitpost? Or what?

Otherwise Fire Punch would never get popular, so yes

>What is the Zig Forums's style, anyway?
Check K-ON threads in archive.

Zig Forums memed me into reading it
That face was... Anticlimactic. Or it was just me getting hyped for it. But I think that page conveys his feelings at that part really good.
Otherwise it was a great series. I always managed to surprise me and I never got bored.
Would recommend

can you actually say what makes it bad? The only thing that bothers me is the pacing, it's really atrocious.

I wouldn't call making someone's taste in mongolian wall paintings more adept "changing a life"

Yeah, this is a good habit to do. If I find a manga with an appealing cover in the updates page, I'll just jump in. Or just bump that random button on Dex.

Well, then, that means that's the next step they should take. That aside, I don't believe that. I know people who are creatives, both good, and genuinely phenomenal creatives I respect, people who've genuinely made really cool shit and have achieved a lot in their field, who has tastes that'd clash with what Zig Forums'd consider "good taste".
But then again, having that inside purview probably allows them to appreciate what most people'd snide at at the surface, so who knows.

There is none. not anymore. It's based on what thread you go into, what the pertaining subject of the thread is for. Even for non-newfags, there's a different definition for that "style" depending on which user you ask, even for people who've been here forever.

Everything popular is bad. It's for low taste plebs.

Fire Punch isn't popular though.

>I wouldn't call making someone's taste in mongolian wall paintings more adept "changing a life"
Everything is life changing.

>In 2017, Fire Punch was nominated for the 10th Manga Taishō Award.[22] The 2017 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook listed the series at #3 on its list of manga for male readers.
Pleb trash

Series took of only cause of an enormous amount of sexual deviacy, pacing fucking sucks, drawings are inconsintent story is to weak to ever be considered a masterpiece and characters are writen for jokes.
Most of things are minor but for all of Zig Forums to consider something like this "deep" perfectly represents everything wrong with this comunity. Its edgy for the sake of edgyness.

Don't forget the tranny

Can you at least write it in proper English ESL?

Gender dysphoria=/being a tranny

>I know people who are creatives, both good, and genuinely phenomenal creatives I respect, people who've genuinely made really cool shit and have achieved a lot in their field, who has tastes that'd clash with what Zig Forums'd consider "good taste".
So what? Are you telling me their taste is bad because Zig Forums doesn't agree with them? Wouldn't the opposite be true

The world is still too immature to understand Fire Punch.

Fire Punch is not thought provoking I see.

I'm saying that, for me, at least, the fact that people who I have respect for likes shit that Zig Forums either doesn't like, or isn't aware of for the most part, was the eye opener that maybe "Zig Forums's taste" shouldn't be where one's taste ends.

Fuck off, I can drink in my free time as much as I want, this doesnt mean shit for the sake of argument

Filtered hard.
