Made in Abyss or Houseki no Kuni? Both are considered AOTY by many for 2017 but which is the better anime and which is the better manga?
Made in Abyss or Houseki no Kuni...
Don't give a shit about glorified advertisments but Houseki no Kuni is better than Made in abyss
Why have the shitposter target MiA the last few days? Did something happen?
Is there ever a show that doesn't have a dedicated autist to shitpost about it on Zig Forums?
HnK purely because it is further along, we're getting to the endgame of Phos development. MiA needs to prove itself a bit more.
In terms of their anime, they each have different strengths but I'd still give it to HnK as I like MiA for more superficial reasons (backgrounds, OST etc).
>cgi
>Both are considered AOTY by many
>Kemono Friends
>Maid Dragon
>Girls Last Tour
>Tsuki ga Kirei
No. Also AOTY was Sagrada Reset.
Houseki no Cunni for both.
Redpill me on Phos' development. Just feels like an excuse to constantly drastically change her personality
Animation: HnK, the 3D isn't perfect but it's some of the best in the medium. NiA has no standout moments in the series
Art: MiA
Music: MiA though both are amazing
VA: HnK
Characters: HnK
Story: HnK though it is further along so it makes sense, MiA has serious potential.
Overall Houseki no Kuni right now but I like where Made in Abyss is going
Houseki no Kuni, both anime and manga.
Not that I'm shitting on MiA, it was also great, but HnK is in a league of its own.
yeah im seeing this too
at first they were targting jojo part 4 making threads everyday talking about absolute garbage
now there targting one piece and MIA really have no idea why
they just bring up any little thing and try there hardist to make an argument out of it.
just pure fucking cringe
Not him. Phos is a standout of the gems and it might have been spurred on by the mixing of materials, but also he's been exposed to a lot of stuff the other gems haven't, like the admirabilis. All of the other gems are basically uncaring sociopaths that are just focused on whatever job they've been given with no desire to question the status quo but Phos feels he needs to investigate the lunarians and try and solve the whole problem with them. And this is exacerbated by even more material changes as well as some merging between Phos' and Lapis' minds, and Lapis was also a standout and seemed to show the same curiosity as Phos is now. And this whole development was obviously meant to be a commentary on human nature and this has been theorized since the beginning, but in the latest chapter was confirmed to be what's happening. Phos is an evolution, or in some ways a devolution, back to humanity with all the things that come with that. And as of right now he's on a war path against the gems because he's sick of them trying to maintain the status quo.
The gems are uncaring and stuck in their ways, with no desire to change even while not really liking the conflict with the lunarians. The lunarians are the most human but are numbed by how long they've been "alive". The admirabilis seem, while still sentient, closer to actual animals than the other two.
Leaks when?
Stop this bullshit, they're both on par in terms of the anime. If we're talking About the manga on the other hand, HnK takes the cake for the writing.
>MiA has no standout moments in the series
Someone hasn't watched the movie yet
>NiA has no standout moments in the series
I've heard that a lot of people were genuinely impressed with the monster animations in the first episode and some of the later episodes.
Princess Principal>Made in Abyss
Girls Last Tour>Houseki no Kuni
I like the MiA manga more than HnK
But they're about equal for the anime
>Both are considered AOTY by many for 2017
Who the hell considers HnK AOTY 2017? I love the manga but the anime doesn't establish itself enough to even be AOTS. By the end, it's slightly less genki Phos, some intrigue, and some interesting developments in the use of CGI. MiA is a great adaptation: atmosphere, sound design, and backgrounds are all on point. MiA is the better of the two as anime adaptations, but neither are AOTY. Arguably MiA is AOTS of summer 2017. HnK is the better manga by leaps and bounds; absolute no contest.
correct, I'm not watching a shitty camrip for what will undoubtedly be the best thing to come out this year
fair enough, but the 5th layer arc some very memorable moments
>but also he's been exposed
>he
This isn't a gem thread so the rules don't apply.

Right now HnK is in a really good spot with its story, and were on the main track rather than being distracted. MiA needs to up its game in the 6th layer by tying it to some sort of "final" mystery that we would get into the 7th layer. I imagine MiA right now is what it felt like to be reading HnK chapters 40-50, where you feel so close to something but we just dont grasp it, and we have been waiting forever
Based.
What is the point you're trying to make?
I enjoy both, but Houseki no Kuni is so absolutely stunning there's no real contest here. It's quite possibly the best manga we've seen in the 2010's, definitely the best one I've read since YKK, which ended some 15 years ago.
If you can prove me wrong, that'd be awesome and I'm listening.
HNK's anime has some great art direction and musical scores but the manga's art really doesn't do it for me. Made in Abyss has more depth to it imo, so I think the manga for that is better.
MiA anime went nowhere too.
One more week bros
I haven't read MiA but I don't particularly like the style the art is going for and from what I've seen it sometimes makes things hard to make out. I can understand why someone might not like HnK's art style too though. Apparently the mangaka has no assistants so some of the stuff she does by herself in the manga is pretty cool.
yeah they're both good I recommend watch both.
hnk suffers from some bad cgi that can take you out of the experience, some bad direction in early episodes and too low fps in general
hnk its restricted by the usual cgi limitations, happens mostly in one location, a lot of flat digital backgrounds and reused models.
>All of the other gems are basically uncaring sociopaths that are just focused on whatever job they've been given with no desire to question the status quo
They all understood there was something deeper going on, but didn't want to disrupt their peaceful life together. Phos is the moron who couldn't resist digging deeper, and Lapis is the sociopath who would use and abuse people to get what they wanted. You now have a sociopathic moron blundering their way through everything and headed for inevitable failure. Ironically, Phos gave the gems the peace they wanted by accident, and they did change. Sensei was accepted as simply Adamant, Cinnabar joined the others, Bortz lost interest in fighting. The only way in which they're uncaring is they want nothing to do with Phos ever again, which is fairly justified at this point.
