But seriously it's so mind numbingly stupid on Kubo's part. It was such a well balanced party.

Realistically he could have written all 3 of them as similarly powerful. But the yellow nigger dropped the ball. Ishida gets a nice showing avenging his clan rekting Mayuri (he should have died) but loses his power and relevance for the entire series.
Chad doesn't even get to touch the enemy captain after a flashback episode. I'd change it so it's a one-strike Samurai duel, with Chad losing but Kyouraku being injured as well and praising Chad's power.

Ichigo gets bankai and leaves them in the dust afterwards so at least throw them a bone and make them his low-captain level friends.

It's not the way the story is set up, though. Ichigo is the main character and has the most potential because of his unique family heritage, he was always going to be way above the other two. Chad and Uryu both needed 1 more good fight like plenty of other characters did.

I liked how the musicals made them literally disappear halfway through the Soul Society arc.
