Man, what a ride. It looked like it will be an amazing saga with great characters for a while, then everything just came crashing down within a few chapters. Which was obvious given what really happened in the history, but it still hurts.

Just absolutely loving this manga so much. I'm a giant nerd for realistic historical fiction manga, especially samurai stuff set in either the Sengoku or Bakumatsu periods (would love to see more Kamaruka/Genpei War era stuff but it's super rare and never gets translated) and the characters and art and story have all been fantastically good here.

Last few chapters have been just crushingly emotionally brutal too which I love.

Fuck bros I wanted Reiri and Souzou to somehow end up raising a family together peacefully in the coutryside as anonymous villagers. I knew in my heart it would never happen but this chapter fucking hurt so much. What a legend Souzou is though going nobly to his certain death with pride and fighting like such a demon that Nobunaga's troops praised his valiance and ferocity.

Of course Azumi. There is no bigger mary sue than her. Maybe Sasori but she doesn't excel in combat. Still love both.

That azumis girl friend that die by bitting her tonge was so brutal.

I found the one really earnest dude she almost had sex with in the shack who got high on power and killed/tortured his entire village by working them to death before dying himself by hitting his head and getting buried in snow while Azumi walks right past him, completely unaware just heartbreaking

3 more chapters after this, I wonder if something will happen or if it's really a 3 chapter epilogue in a 35 chapter manga with 40 page chapters.
