Yep that's true.
Without shitposting, it was bad because it followed Thorfinn too much and Thorfinn was a really boring character summed up by a single word: angst. The theme is Thorfinn changing, but it doesn't help he starts one dimensional and ends one dimensional. It'd a shame because characters like Askeladd, Thorkell, and Canute are interesting to watch, but they too often take the sideline to a dumb kid grunting and being a fucking ninja when he's not.

It's accurate to viking sagas. While watching it I could identify individual characters, feats and stuff like that even if the names and context gets changed around some.
