Luffy and Zoro are the exact same character when boiled down. They are both super duper moral fags that are striving to be the best, and are just inherently good people. The only difference is Luffy is goofy, and Zoro is edgy. Zoro's edginess gets him a big boost in popularity to keep up with Luffy.
