Kiriya aside, I think the second batch of antagonists were better, they were on the serious side but they also had some interestings glimpses of personality in the mansion scenes, it's only in Max Heart when they introduced a new batch of villains that felt Seeds 2.0, then it started to get old.

I got to the point where Porun was introduced. Mepple could be annoying at times but Jesus Christ Porun makes him look like an amateur on his most annoying day in comparison.

It is a thing that magical girl series do but I don't know which was the first off the top of my head. Looking it up, Sally the Witch had a sort of partner apparently, though from what I'm finding it's not really a mascot character. I'm sure it's older than most of the older series most people on Zig Forums are likely to have watched though.
