I read the manga and it wasn't for me. I still find Hachiman to be a better protagonist, though. I am, however, going to deny that Sakuta's a great protagonist. Sakuta's entertaining, but not in a good way. Hachiman just strikes me as a better character.

Still, You should watch the first 1/2 episodes of Bakemonogatari, they are an arc by itself and that would give you an idea of what to expect instead of trusting the opinion of autist on a mongolian fire-shadows imageboard.
