Good luck everyone!
Learning is hard.
Because I wasted a load of time trying to learn kanji, which didn't actually get me any closer to knowing Japanese.
I'm trying
Its hard, and if the only reason I'm going to be using it is for watching anime and reading manga then I rather wait, English is superior in every other aspect
Because I don't need it.
You'll figure out those contractions any day now.
I've been studying for about a year but I can still only read basic Japanese sentences with words I'm familiar with. So it will probably be about another 9 years or so before I can say I've reached fluency.
I'm far ahead of you
I know people are told to memorize the kanji via words, and that's definitely the way to go with meanings. However, I found that associating the kanji with their meaning and being able to produce it from meaning (even though meaning is out the window at times) really helps overall. You can see the kanji show up in words and such and kind of get a feel for what the word means--sometimes. Also, in the process, the deck will probably have the onyomi and kunyomi which you will also just kind of pick up on seeing the card over and over again.
You have to do other stuff too. Grammar first (start vocab and kanji) then once you got grammar down continue the vocab and kanji while reading/watching things.
I find listening (i.e. watching anime and knowing what's going on without subs) the hardest. Someone posted this list of easier animes to learn from though once.
Day 3500, I still can't into radicals.
Are there any doujin or lewds of this girl?

thats why
why learn it? All I would use it for is read more untranslated isekai novels which will get translated to English anyway. Since isekai is the greatest genre of all time in the anime industry, and there will always be demand for English translation.
I never paid attention so is Re:Zero really that hard? From terminology alone I don't remember it having too many niche words.
working on it. goal is to read muramasa but probably won't happen.
Also, knowing Japanese, it's fun being able to talk to Japanese artists to commission art of your waifu.
>wife's anime is half way on the list
Huh, interesting, I can understand her pretty well already.
If you become good, you can earn money translating though.
but you could be the one translating said isekai and make bank off of patreon to help your sick mom.
Had to get my masters degree.
but what if his mom is sick of him?
because I still trying to learn well english
He then should translate himself into moving out into a flat.
I found Kinmoza, Sakura Trick and Hinako Note (once you acquire the drama/theatre vocab) to be really easy. They would definitely be near the top of that list.
Only geniuses with at least 150 IQ can learn Japanese. I have slightly more than 90. It's absolutely impossible for me.
There's soooo much Isekai that not everything gets translated. There's also the case of somewhat popular stuff getting dropped and either rots or you wait a decade for the official translation.
Anyone else using WaniKani? Currently level 13. I have the Genki books for learning grammar.
I recommend no one learn it. I did from 2009 to 2012. I also learned a good bit of main reading and even some rubi.
It will ruin anime. It shows just how mediocre the Japanese voices are and then you can't even pretend to be superior because you go with the better and more refined English dubbing.
At least I can travel to Japan 2-3 times a year and not be completely lost.
No because it's garbage.
started 4 days ago and so far I only learned hiragana. I'm not gonna make it
You are doing great so far, keep it up user!
Memorising kanji did nothing to help me and just put me off trying. I think it's a terrible idea.
>list of easier animes to learn from
Literally just kids shows, surely.
Because I'm learning Spanish.
because im a lazy spick who can barely onto english
Why do you say that?
>onto
into*
That list is total BS.
