I got both sides of it. I did get bullied in school a lot but I had my fair share of regrettable moments too. I was a really angry kid, and the fight scene at the desk early in the movie fucked me up.

That’s exactly it! By highschool bullying, at least in well off areas it seems, plummets or at least becomes more tame. Elementary is just a bunch of angry, bored, confused kids that are starting to become disillusioned with things. And they haven’t developed a moral compass yet.
