Why are shounentards unable to make a good thread?

>underrepresented
Explain

Because the viewers would get addicted to BBC

no one wants to be around niggers.

There are few black people in Japan
And even fewer african americans

cuz is racist duuuh

Cause they are not a majority in Japan. No need to misrepresent, the amount of black people in anime is accurate

Because Japanese anime is >usually< about japanese people for japanese people by japanese people.
It's just a simple matter of who makes it for whom.

black people usually care a lot about their own race's representation in entertainment, so that may have something to do with it, but regardless: Look at LeSeans stuff, it has a lot of black characters.

It's not inherently good or bad, it's just the natural order of things. I certainly know that if anything I ever make gets a series, I dont want to be told "uh, you should add/do this" and then proceeding to tell me what types of characters I should add, or stuff like "you cant have young girls because thats pedo" etc. Let people make what they want to.

This. I'm living in a capital and I've never seen a black-skinned person until I was something like twelve.
It's probably pretty much the same for Japan.

I thought Tosen was like out of Okinawa.

I'm pretty sure African-Americans are overrepræsented.
With that I mean that like half of the time when they have a U.S.A. character it's a black character.
There aren't many U.S.A. characters though, far more European characters, Germans, most of all.

That's because hey... the US is just another country in the wørld to japanese people, so pick a country and chances it being a US character is equal to a Finnish person, english, brazilian of french

they ugly nigga

Because generally Americans are underrepresented in animus.

I would assume that well known countries have a higher chance.
As I said; Germany is vastly overrepræsented. The three most common non-Japanese nationalities featured have got to be Germany, China, and England, in that order.
And I mean England, not the U.K., never seen a Scott.

Nah, not really.
If you take all other characters from other nations and but them into a pie-chart, I think US has an even amount of characters to other nations.

The problem is that people from the US are incredibly ignorant, thinking that somehow "America" is the majority of the world.

The same reason white people are.

Mutt's law.

In all fairness it sure as hell feels that way sometimes, it's American media we consume most. For example not even Europeans give a crap about movies made by fellow Europeans outside their own countries. So our view of the world is extremely skewed in favor of good old 'murrica. Though Asia I suppose has somewhat better resistance than us.

Man Zig Forums is really trying to get a race argument thread going. This is the second thread where OP tries to say something about race with dark characters. Hopefully this one turns into a brown girl thread too. Or brown boys.

Yeah, not true, but if you actually come to japan, foreigners are really varied, it's not like US people is at a vast majority here. Ofc there are most Chinese and South Koreans, but when it comes to westerners, there's a lot of Spain, France, England, Australia going øn too.

To be fair, and this is annoying as hell, when Japanese people talk about 外国人 or 海外 they are usually talking about americans or the US.

When it comes to media, US is unfortunately producing the majority of movies etc yeah..

They all get arrested before filming starts.

Shading the skin colour wastes ink.

Tousen looked so fucking cool before his heel-turn.

Why did Kubo have to ruin his design?

There's literally nothing wrong with his redesign

It is really sad when black muricans and transgender try to find representation in anime.

It's not bad, but I'm with user, I think his Shinigami design looked better. Though I think Tousen's redesign was the first Kubo settled on right? Aizen and Gin got tweaked later, Tousen iirc didn't.

>never seen a Scott.
Eh, you see one incoherent, drunken lout you’ve seen them all

No one is talking about the makeup of Japan itself which is mostly Brazillians which are like never featured in Japanese Chinese cartoons.

We're talking about what is featured in Japanse Chinese cartoons — which is very German-heavy.

>black people usually care a lot about their own race's representation in entertainment
Since fucking when

no idea but at least they're normally based.

>If you take all other characters from other nations and but them into a pie-chart, I think US has an even amount of characters to other nations.
If it be done on a per-nation basis, then most nations will be super underrepræsented, has there ever been a character from Andorra?

There are a couple of nations that are extremely overrepræsented though, in particular Germany, China, and England in that order, China obviously not so much when taken for population size, but England is far smaller than the U.S.A. and there are quite a bit more English characters.

The problem is that the U.S.A., being a very young nation, has no distinct culture in the eyes of most of the world, the only real ethnic stereotypes one can latch onto the U.S.A. are mostly the negative obesity one's. There are no real U.S.A. traditions that it's known for the way Germany, China, or England are.

That having been said, India obviously also has a massive cultural history, but it's also not featured much, but Egypt seems fairly popular as well to feature, and also of course has a similarly massive history that it often plays into.

I can think of at least one example.

16:20, sorry about the quality.

They are represented when there is an international context, pretty much like others.
If you had some Anime culture you should know where they are.

Have you even been on twitter?

And you see whenever they have a say in what character make it onto the screen, either through being director or the original creator etc, there's usually black people included.

You sound like a faggot that loves Death Note & KLK.

Yeah which is a shame, I wish more nations were featured, but alas, only those that seem to be sort of culturally of significance to Japanese people, or at least that are familiar to them, either through media or history (like the US, like Holland, England, Spain, Russia) are the ones that usually make it.

In my very humble opinion, there isn't anything of cultural value that US can provide, except for being stupid.. Most people view americans as being ignorant people screaming "FREEDOM!" and thats basically all they have. Big guns and idiots. So nations that actually bring any value, like England or Germany with their history if knights and cool gothic architecture, or "wild" countries like Russia and Finland makes for a much more interesting character at a first glance I assume?

Oh, and if its not obvious I dislike anything that has to do with the US, so I'm biased of course. But even so, I think theres truth to what I'm saying, objectively

Because nigs have never archived anything on this planet and they are irrelevant.

Leave it to a shounentard to make such an illogical projection. If you hadn't noticed both of those series are also brain dead battle anime.
